  • Hello
Good morning! I babysat for my son's dog last night-poor Frankie-the vet said he was going blind. And he has an anxiety disorder so he now takes tranquilizers. He's only 6 and my son has a hard time taking care of him so he might put him to sleep. I took care of him for 2 years while he was in school. We packed my car for FL. last night. And we have an appt to talk to the priest-only because of the length of time it takes because of the annullment process. I don't think any of you guys are Catholic but divorces need to be annulled in the Catholic church and it takes a year. We'll see what we have to do. Brad is being so wonderful going along with me-we have both been in our churches all our lives so neither wants to give up his/her religion and doesn't have to.I just got an e-mail from a friend who says go slow-but we are in our 60's .Even the priest understood about the timing. I made a boiled dinner last night in the pressure cooker-turkey kielbasa, cabbage, carrots, potatoes. Deliscious and raves for the cook. That recipe sounds great Candice. I will be looking for WW things to make.Boy Meme, your snow really does paralyze things. We only have that much time off for a blizzard. Good luck. Hi to all. Mima
  • Hey There
Memi- Things are really heating up.. You packed your car? I thought you were flying down. I would drive too at this time. It has been cold here for a while. Of all times my heater has decided to cut up. We have had this unit for 16 years. What a pain in the behind.
Meme- School started here on monday. I am sure there were a lot of mothers and G/mothers glad.
Hello to all you great people.. Not much to say.. just checking in..
    Bye...Joanne
  • Hi
Joanne, my car is being transported in a carrier and I am flying. Brad is taking the train. Mima
  • The snow just paralyzes things for the part of the county that is in the mountains...people up there can't go ANYWHERE!!! Especially the school buses. So...when they can't go to school, the whole county is out and we have to suffer, too!!! The private school where the boys go was open today and I think the county schools will be open tomorrow...most of the snow is gone here now.

Gotta go get ready for church!

MIMA...no need to go slow if you're sure and he's sure...just listen to your own heart!
  • Hello
Candice, that Deep Dish Pizza sounds really good. I think I will give it a try - sometimes my husband isn't too receptive to new recipes, although he really likes that Cranberry Chicken.

Mima - getting closer everyday. I'll bet you can't wait to get going.

Ally - Where are You???? I am looking for a diet buddy here. Come back. I need you.

Joanne - Hi. How are things going.

Meme- I'll bet that you are happy the schools are open again. They don't close the schools here unless it is 30 below. In the country, they do, if the roads need to be cleared.

I don't have much to say really. I started water exercises yesterday. I was so happy to get back to them. I love going and I feel so alive and good when I get out. The only problem is, of course, I am stiff and sore today. Go figure! Anyway, I go again tomorrow, so we shall see what happens. Next week it is diet time. One thing at a time is all I can handle. Wish me luck.
  • Anne...what kind of diet are you starting next week?
  • Hello
I just was able to get on this site. My close friend YOYO-Japanese-was just here and I shared my news with her. We are going to talk to the priest tonight!!! Yikes!!!!But this is only for information. I went to toast some of my bread this morning and found out I had bought 2 loaves of bread I couldn't eat so I guess Brad will have to eat. They are only 3$ a loaf-now I have no bread that I'm not allergic to. I guess I'll live. It's warm and rainy here. Gotta go dust-I'm having company tomorrow night to play cards. Mima
  • Hello all
WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ALLY AND CANDICE??????? It seems like a very long time ago they were here. I hope you two are doing ok and not in some kind of flare. I hope you are just darn busy and not depressed.

Mima - you ARE as busy as Meme - just not chasing after little ones, but running, never the less.

Meme - I DON'T know. Haven't decided if I will go on WW or not. I still have a few days to decide. How is it going for you? Are you oxycizing as well?

Joanne - Hello. Hope you are doing ok. Are you able to walk again without to much pain from the knee?

Now - here is what I did this week. I am actually proud of myself, because it has been a LONG time since I was so determined. As I told you, I started water aerobics on Tuesday, that went well, and felt great, so went back Thursday. So far so good. Now, I also ordered a program from the Shopping Channel called Walk Away the Pounds.
    http://www.6-weekbodymakeover.com/pr...asp?prodid=488

It is so easy, and so good. I walked the 2 mile program today, including hand held weights that come with the program. It is very easy on the body, and it is something I can do during the winter. It is so warm here, that the snow melts during the day, and then freezes at night, so you know that it means slippery. Anyway, I am impressed with this program. Comes with 3 VCR tapes - 1 mile - 2 mile and 3 mile - all with the same moves, just each one is more intense. I will let you know how it goes. My body is responding well, and is actually feeling better. Not my right hip, however. Will have to ice it and put Dr. Ho to work, I guess. However, the pain I had in my arms has all gone, so I will put up with a sore hip. Actually, it is the glute muscle that is the problem, so will have to work on that. Now next week, I will add in the diet. This program comes with a very good diet, actually, but we will see.

I have a babysitting job this weekend, so am off to Edmonton tomorrow. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Thought For The Day" preview: steady pace???

Go, go and go will bring us to our intended destination. Whether it be inch by inch, mile by mile or country by country we continue to make progress as long as we are moving forward. With our eyes fixed on the goal and steadfast determination in our heart we will achieve victory within a reasonable time. One of the best ways to arrive at where we want to be is by employing a *STEADY PACE*!!!

  • Hey There
Hey Everybody- You must be having the same problem I had... I couldn't get on for a day..
I walked 3 miles today. I thought it was warmer outside than it was. I was really chilly until my hubby came to the beach to pick me up. Now I am paying the price. Guess it will be a warm bed and advil for the night.
I cut out another dress today and finished one. Got two more besides those to make and that will be it for awhile. I may start another quilt. That will take awhile. I plan to embroider a flower arrangement in each square. This should be fun. I like to design my own projects. Keeps my mind off of things that will get me into trouble.
    Bye...Joanne
  • And just what is it you think might get you in trouble??? Sex or Food???

Happy...I took a look at the walking program...do you think it would be hard on the knees? I've been walking an indoor track at the college in Cookeville 2 or 3 times a week plus doing Oxycise several times a week. I still haven't lost the 2.5 pounds I gained last week!!! I guess next week I will go down to the next lowest level of points and see if that will get me started losing again. I'm only 3 or 4 pounds from being at that level anyway.

My daughter got baby Jenna in preschool 5 days a week starting next week so I won't be having to babysit at all now except after school. I will still have to go get Ross everyday at 3 and keep him until about 6. The daycare at the hospital (where Jenna stays) is building a new facility...it is supposed to be finished by school time next fall...when it is finished, they may be able to take Ross in their afterschool program. They will actually pick him up from school and take him there...so maybe by then I'll be "kid free"!!!

Gals...I absolutely HAVE to get rid of this extra weight...it's killing me....... So...whatever it takes...it's going. If that means cutting the points or cutting out all snacks...so be it!
  • Hey There
Meme- Food mostly and sometimes sex will get me into trouble. .. I had to rid the house of everything that I could use as a snack food when I was trying to lose. Ofcourse I could make a snack out of everything. I told myself to put on "blinders". I never went out to eat or even to family dinners. I felt I could not control the food that way. I still have a fear of doing those things. I do go to subway sometimes. My hubby brings in the snacks now and I do fall victim.I don't think I will ever be to the point that I can resist the things that make me overweight. Write everything down you put in your mouth. I found that I was eating more points than I should, And still do!.. You know if you go below your alotted points for your weight you will not lose. I found that I had to eat more because I walked so much.. Just to maintain!... Hope this will help.. I know what you mean about being kid free. I used to baby sit for my daughter before she moved to N/Fla. It was very tiring.. I was working full time then also..Charge Nurse in a long term nursing facility. High stress. I don't regret retirement at all.. I try to enjoy every day... Hello to Happy..my leg feels better.. Ally..where are you.. Scoping out a new guy I hope.. Memi.. Almost time for Fl. Candice.. Hi..Bye, Joanne
  • Hello
Hey guys-I think May 4 will be a very special day-I will keep you posted.Brad told this joke to the priest last night-a rabbi, minister and a priest were discussing when life began. The minister said-it begins at birth-the priest said you're wrong-it begins at conception. The rabbi said-you are both wrong-it begins when the dog dies and the kids leave the house.Fr. Copper said he would use it in his sermons-good thing he didn't tell him some of the other jokes he knows. Just mention a word and he has a joke. Tonight we are playing cards with a bunch of my church friends. I haven't been good eating but I also have not been snacking. Can't wait to walk and swim in FL and see my family!!!I'll be alone 2 weeks and then Brad is coming down. Congrats on your ambitious program, Happy. Walking and swimming are the best-even if the walking hurts in the beginning-it goes away. Hi to all. Mima
