A synical look at maximuslce promax and diet promax

  • please help me i think i'm turning into a grumpy old man. maximuscle is a company i've bought things from for years i think most of there stuff is awesome and tastes great even with water but what i just read has left me slightly confused and well annoyed.

Promax protien powder 900g tub = 30 servings of 30g. this gives
    Energy 120Kcal/497 kJ
    Protein (on dry matter) 23g
    Carbohydrate 2.04g
    Fats 2.07g
at a cost £33. a fav of mine when i'm training great tasting easy mix maybe a bit more pricey than some brands but i think worth the money.

Promax Diet 1200g tub gives 20 servings of 60g (twice the amount as above and 10 less shakes)
    Energy 228kcal/953kJ
    Protein 37.8g
    Carbohydrate 12g
    of which sugars 10g
    Fats 3.5g
    of which saturates 1.8g
    Fibre 2.0g
    Sodium
    0.36g

Now notice per serving your having 2x the powder which is more expensive to start with your getting a lower proportion per weight of protein almost 9g less in comparable weight. 10g more carbs about 50% more fat. now it also has added "Diet" ingredients?
    Xylitol 5g
    CLA (Conjugated linoleic acid) 1700mg
    Caffeine (from Guarana) 125mg
    Vitamin B5 (Panthothenic acid) 125mg
Green tea extract (95% catechins) 25mg
this all costs the grand total of £41.99 a whole £9 more. per tub for which you get ten less shakes.

    A) am i being syincal in thinking that they are marketing it as diet and suggesting 2 shakes a day to replace meals (based on 6 meal day) to use up your precious powder in just 10 days! thats right to follow the diet they suggest with 2 shakes a day is £126 a month! is this in order to get more money from you.

    B) is it preying on the fad dieters, the desperate and the lazy? to earn a quick buck.
