One of my goals when I started on this journey was to be able to do unassisted pullups again. You know, the kind that only the boys had to do for the Presidential Physical Fitness and Social Torture Test, while us girls had to hang on the bar like a cat stuck in a screen door? Yeah, those pullups.
At any rate, this morning at the gym, as I was resting between squat sets, I saw the pullup bar at the top of the squat rack. It was calling to me, saying, "why not? what have you got to lose?" The siren call was too great, so I tried an unassisted pullup.
I did it! Wide grip no less.
I was so surprised I had to do one more, just to make sure the first one wasn't just a trick of gravity or a hole in the space-time continuum or what not.
I did a second one as well.
That's two, as in 2, as in 1+1, as in two more than zero pullups!
Yay, me! Way to go, me!
