New Member...hates cooking

  • Hey everyone! Well, I'm a huge fan of Celebrity Fit Club. Who doesn't enjoy seeing stars struggling to lose weight? My smile would usually turn into a frown during the last episodes when we would see the before and after photos showing how much weight they've lost. The actress that once weighed more than me, now weighs considerably less and I'm still on the couch munching on whatever having a pity party. I'm 25 years old and wish to look like I'm in my twenty's while I'm still in my twenties!! So..I bought Dr. Ian's book and will begin tomorrow morning. I'm a little leary however. Not about the diet...but about me actually sticking with something. I'm one of those people who don't enjoy preparing meals. If it's quick, easy and doesn't require much prep time...you might get me to do it. If there are any of you out there who are (or were) the same way in the kitchen...do you have any tips or advice?
  • I don't cook unless it's a holiday, in which case I really enjoy preparing complicated, decadent meals. My husband says that a one-page recipe is too simple for me... :-)

That said, the other 360 days of the year, I eat mostly cold meals or easily prepared stuff. Frozen rice and steamed, ready-to-eat lentils from Trader Joe's are my friend. Grabbing a piece of fruit or scrambling an egg hardly count as "cooking".

If you are doing the Extreme Fat Smash diet, the "meals" require almost no preparation. Examples:

    Cycle 1, Day 2:
    B'fast: 6oz of low-fat yogurt & 1 piece of fruit
Meal #2: small salad with dressing & 1 cup of juice
Meal #3: 4oz of fish, chicken, turkey, lean sirloin & 1/2 cup of beans/lentils
Meal #4: 1 cup rice & 2 servings of veggies
    +two snacks

I prepared my meals for the day today in <10 mins.

    Good luck!
