Hi all,
Don't know why I say all........all of you haven't been here, altho MONET checked in.
Went to church this morning, the Youth Group had a luncheon to earn money to go to GA. They had a basket at the buffet for donations. They had chicken, baked potao and green beans, and scads of luscious looking desserts. I did not touch them.
Went in the pool yesterday, first time this season. Water was nice and cool, like swimming in a spring fed pond. Loved it!
ROSALIE: I bought the yarn about four months ago. I did check other stores and online but couldn't find it. The purple that they have is too bright, I want muted tones. I matched the orchid against some leftover yarns I have, it looks good with the Soft White, so tomorrow I will get that. I'm not taking a chance I'm buying what I need all at once. Sounds like you're going to be in the home improvement mode for a while.
Sort of a hurting day. Going to go put my feet up.
May good things happen, Shirley

Good evening,
Just looking in to see if anything is happening.
THUNDER: We all love our kids, but being trapped in the house with a scratching child was not my idea of fun. It always lasted a while; Kevin would get whatever was going through school and bring it home to Elaine. It was one after the other. The only good thing was by the time Elaine went to school she'd had everything and I didn't have to go through it all again. Of course, they were perfect angels when they were sick....lol
ROSALIE: Let's see, I like raisins, I like gin drinks, hmmmmm a nice combination! I had forgotten about that remedy. It's been around a long time. I did try it years ago and it didn't do anything for me, except make me like raisins more!!!
Hope all is well with our MIAs.
May good things happen, Shirley

Good morning.
Looks like Sef and Rosalie are the board.
Thunder, glad the chicken pox are almost finished. I know you and Danielle are both excited about it.
Rosalie, congrats on the loss. With all that walking, it will stick.
Sef, the whole time I was reading the "remedy" that Rosalie posted I was thinking the same thing as you. Probably won't help but I bet those raisens are good. Hope you are feeling better soon. Arther can be such a mean guy.
We finished our floors Sat. They look beautiful. The rooms look so much larger. I spent the beautiful weekend indoors washing walls and woodwork and everything in the house. I have never seen so much dirt and dust.
We just have a few little things to finish up. I can't beleive Easter is Sunday. I am not ready, but I guess I will be.
Got to get busy here. Have a great day.

During the past month I have lost over 6 lbs & 13.5 inches, walking 2 miles/day X 5 days/wk. It's paying off.
I'm only home for a little while. I'll be going back to the hospital. We had to bring Mom to the ER late yesterday evening when her blood sugar dropped down to 29 & she was unresponsive. Sugar came back up with the Dextrose but she was still not responding as she should so they did a CT which was negative. I ran home to get a few things & went back for the night.
Mom had a good night & is responding so much better this morning. She drank some water with me, found my ring & tried to pull it off my finger, which she had not done in a long time, & gave us several smiles this morning. The doctor came in & he will adjust her insulin as well as change the kind that she is getting. Because Mom has lost weight, has had a decrease in appetite & is not very active anymore, all of that could have contributed to the drop in her sugar. She also has a bladder/kidney infection & they have started IV antibiotics for that. She will stay overnight again just so they can monitor her sugar & observe her & then she should be able to return to the NH tomorrow.
For those that don't remember, Mom has Alzhemier's Disease & it has really progressed over the past year. She is non-verbal now & doesn't seem to be very expressive most of the time, so the smiles this morning have really blessed my heart.
Got to go. Will be back when I can.
Howdy all... I love a new board. We went grocery shopping today and I'm really tired but just wanted to check in. Need to go start dinner and I can't think of anything to have. We had a roast deli chicken for lunch. Maybe I can make something out of the leftovers. Its 82 out today but after Wed. we're getting a cold front. I did pick up some herbs at Wal Mart to plant but will wait a bit to see what the weathers going to do. I got basil, rosemary and thyme. I still want some more. Have to run....

Good evening,
Was busy today, JN (joyful Noise) entertained, then we went to Shoney's for linch, and I went to Hobby Lobby to get yarn. I actually had to go through the yarn to get all that matched. So much for No Dye Lot yarn. I think Red Heart has lowered it's standards.
I was tired when I got home. Let Bitsy out and then propped up my legs and had a short nap. Fixed supper and then went out in the pool for a while. Water is still cool, but I love it.
SOLLY: I remember when they replaced the floors downstairs after Katrina that there was a real mess. They did all the cutting outside yet it was still dusty. It did make things look larger. Kevin wants to do upstairs next. The older we get the faster time goes! When we were kids we thought Christmas, Easter or whatever we were looking forward would never come. Now that I'm older I wonder how the events got here so quickly.
MELF: Glad you are seeing results from your walking and following woe. Sorry to hear about your Mother. A smile is a blessing and you should enjoy it. Will keep her and you in my prayers.
MONET: Hooray for Tom! It must be a relief. You are always so busy. I admire your talent and the patience it takes. I know how frustrating it can be when something doesn't come out right and you have to smash it and start over. You did notice that I called Kevin when the squirrel went in the pool. I figured it was a job for him. We were surprised when it managed to get itself out.
TONI: Nice you stopped by to say Hi. Sometimes those meals we can't think of what to have turn out pretty good. Hope yours did.
Time for Jeopardy. Will try to check in later.
May good things happen, Shirley
