A question for a leader (or anyone that knows!!)

  • Hi!

I have been following WW at home for two years, and lost a total of 35 pounds to obtain my personal goal weight. I am 5' 7" tall and currently weight about 150 (yes, I have gained back 15 pounds!!)

Anyway, I would really like to officially join WW and go to weekly weigh ins and stay for meetings, but someone told me I may not be able to join since I am not that "overweight", is this true? I hope not, WW has helped me so much get the extra weight off, and I now have gained some back but need the encouragement from the weekly meetings to get back down to 135.

    Help!!
  • In my region, you must have at least 5 lbs to lose in order to become a member. Since 135 is an acceptable weight for your height (given the WW range), that gives you 15 to lose in the eyes of WW. I'd sign up. If you're in doubt and don't want to risk a trip, call your area WW number to get the official word from them.
  • Hey Tonya. I think they should let you join. I joined with my mom the first time and we both were thechnically in our weight ranges but wanted to get to a lower point in the range. My mom was really close to the 5lbs limit. I think that is for liability reasons. Anyway, the support at meetings are good and the weekly accountability is great. I did not know you did WW from home . What determination you have. I really need the meetings.

  • Thanks Rupertsmom and Trish!

I am planning on joining this Wed. with my mom and SIL. I am within the weight range, but at the higher end, and my goal is actually in the low to middle range, so I should be o.k.

    Thanks for the input!!
