I had the best dream last night........

  • I was so happy with the dream that I had right before waking up this morning. Instead of thinking about food as I woke up like I normally do, I had a very motivating dream where I was going back to someplace where people knew me. Not sure where this was, but I was wearing a white sundress which showed off my awesome shoulder and arm development and kept getting asked by people "Wow, how much have you lost?" to which I kept answering 30 lbs. (altho, to look like that it will really be 30 MORE for like 60 total) Anyway, it was very motivating, and right at the end, I was like sitting in a restaurant eating with a friend. She lost her balance on her chair and slid off and I tried to help her but couldn't pull the chair up from my angle. This "fit" guy behind us said to me, "with that upper body development, you could definitely pick her up. You just need to change your angle and put your hands on opposite sides of her chair and pull her up that way." How weird, it was like I was getting a compliment, some personal training, and some working out in all during the course of lunch!! lol It was one of those dreams you didn't want to end. But I definitely want to remember it because it's so motivating! I definitely want to keep working hard so that I can have a REAL experience like that some time this summer. Hmm, sounds like some sundress shopping is in my near future! lol

So, does anyone else have fitness dreams??? I'm definitely going to have to blog on this one.
  • Not necessarily a fitness dream...but I did have a vivid dream where I was standing in front of a full-length mirror, dressed in next to nothing, admiring my "six-pack" abs. LOLOLOL.

Another dream I had which was equally as vivid and motivating to a certain extent was one where I was staring at a plate of french fries and then looked up and saw my boyfriend kissing another woman. WHOA! Trust me...I did not have fries for a looong time.
  • these may be the premenitions of good things to come!
  • Fran that is a fantastic dream. I have had a fitness related dream a year ago. It was after my first run on the treadmill. (Much like the run you experienced today)

It was such a big deal for me not to just be able to run but also that I wanted to run. I was so nervous as I inched up the speed on the treadmill afraid I was going to fly off. When I returned home DH asked how it went and I said, "I ran today." This was just huge. All afternoon I would get his attention and then say, "I ran today." Before going to bed that night I said it again. (Yeah, I drove him crazy with this but he is a patient man...) No surprise, that evening my dream was about running.

There is a park with a pond in the middle that I used to go to when I was in college and I would walk or rollerblade around it. I was starting to gain serious weight at that point in my life and could not have entertained the idea of running. Well, in my dream I was running in that park and I felt like I was ten again. I felt such peace. I woke up with the understanding that this must become a permanent part of my life. I will run. Shortly after this I developed a stress fracture in the hip and spent the next ten months recovering.

My goal this summer is to run that park.
  • Wow great dream!! But in 22 years of working out I have never ever had a workout dream like that... Very cool, your subconscious is definitely telling you something...
  • I wanted to all let you know that last nite I dreamt I ran into Oprah. We were in like a Nordstroms or something (or more likely Mashall Fields, right?!). She was talking to another woman who was complaining to her about just not being able to lose weight, so of course, I had to stop and tell them about my c25k program and just babbled on and on about how that really worked for me. Only then did I realize it was oprah and she told me that's how she started for her marathon, etc etc. It was funny! Never made it onto the show, but public praise isn't my thing anyway. So I'm seeing a pattern of these "before run" dreams that I have. LOL
  • I love your motivational dreams!!
  • Fran: You run into Oprah, better let us all know.
