Good plan?

  • I bought a home gym thingy with the cables and weights and I need help to know if the workout I am doing is balanced.
    triceps pushdown
    narrow grip pulldown
    lat pulldown
    seated preacher curl
    row
    bench press
    seated shoulder press
    leg extension
    standing leg curl
    butterfly
Then I will do inner and outer thigh lifts on the floor (my knees aren't strong enough to use the weights on my machine) and I am only able to do small weights on most of these right now but I know I will get stronger as time goes. I am doing these exercises Mon, Wed, and Fri and will be starting ab work on an exercise ball and walking on Tuesday and Thursday. I have been taking a multivitamin from GNC but now looking at it seems like it might be a bit overdose on almost all of the daily %'s it supplies. Any advice or input would be great.
  • You are missing core muscles- ab work. Also, you might want to read the sticky up top on free weights vs. machines. Yes, You are getting the basics for each muscle group, but especially for legs I think there are far more effective exercises than extensions. Take a look at the various squat and lunge threads

  • What would be good for working the core other than crunches? Eeeek squats? Me? You know I think I might just be able to do those nowadays.
  • See if you can check out or rent Ab Workout for Dummies. I did the 10 minute version yesterday and can feel it today. It also has a 20 min. workout. Also, do you have a stability ball? There are a ton of rental dvd's for core exercises utilizing the ball, or you could do any pilates dvd's as well! I've been doing abs since September and really doubted I could find anything new that I would feel, but I did!!
  • As I said in my original post I have an exercise ball and will be doing ab work on it 2 days a week, but I will probably do it 3 days with my weights instead. I am planning on using Leslie Sansones you can do abs or Richard Simmons abs videos. Is 2 to 3 days a week enough for strengthening my abs?
