  • Hi-
Sometimes lately I have been like that too. What has worked in the past for me is to JUST SAY NO for short intervals of time, like 30 minutes. Possibly find something else to do for that short period of time and you might forget about eating for awhile. You could also have some cut up veggies ready to go, then if you get the urge to munch uncontrollably, you won't do much damage.
Possibly you could get online and chat with others who are also trying to keep their hands busy. Chew gum-that usualy works for me.
    Good luck.
  • How much are you eating during the day? You probably aren't eating enough and that WILL make you ravenous at night. It also isn't good to have all the fuel in our body to go to bed on and run on empty all day. Also, are you eating enough fat and protein? They are what keep you satisfied and feeling full.
  • I agree with Quilter--if you don't have enough protein/fat you'll feel less satisfied. If I have enough protein throughout the day (i.e. with each meal), I don't go through a period in the evening of looking for something to eat. Try drinking more water, keep your hands busy, stay out of the kitchen, etc. Try to reframe--remember how good you felt with your pants being looser, etc. I think we all hit a period where we lose our motivation and drive. I've never called ww a diet, because for me that means deprived--instead I look at this as a lifestyle change and it's very adaptable to my lifestyle.

    Sure hope the suggestions help
  • HI! You've gotten lots of good advice. Do you think you might like to start counting your points at night with your dinner meal?
Lots of people are having success doing that. Plan a good dinner, plan a snack to look forward to--count it all in. You'll do fine. Right now you feel like you are cheating, but there's probably a way to fit in eating when you need to eat. I wish you lots of luck and I know you can be successful!
  • For me the hardest part is planning what I'm going to eat. I know I end up feeling deprived at the end of the day if I don't allow for dessert. (Skinny cow / Silhoutte icecream sandwiches are my current favorites - 2 pts ea).

Everyone has given great advice. Protein and a bit of fat helps, water of course, but sometimes I want a beverage that's sweet - 1/2 c. juice with seltzer, or do you crave salt?

Why not allow for your "cheating" instead of fighting it? I find at times I want to crunch on a whole bag of popcorn (there's 94 or 96% fat free = 2-3 pts for the whole bag). Key for me is to not feel deprived. Grilling veggies w/ a bit of butter (1 tsp) and spices and piling them on the plate. Making that great WW veggie soup that even if I eat a quart of it in one sitting is only a couple of points. I know eating a bunch of points at night may not be ideal, but I like to feel satsified and I still lost the weight!

One Motivator for me - is to take out an outfit I want to fit into and hang it in the open for me to see (and want to wear). My fave is a hot pink linen dress. What's yours?
