New here....am I doing OK?

  • Hello everyone! I've been lurking around the boards for quite a while and just got interested in South Beach in the last few weeks....read the book and decided to give it a try! I'm a very repetitive eater (I'll eat the same things for a whole week) and I just want to make sure that I'm following all of the rules correctly....I'm on day 4 of phase 1 and here's what I've eaten so far.

    Monday:

B - 2 scrambled eggs with 1/2 c stir fry vegetables, small glass skim milk
    S - 15 almonds
L - taco bake (from your recipe forums) with a salad of 1 1/2 c spinach, a handful of grape tomatoes and 2 T italian dressing
    S - cheese stick
D - 4 oz. turkey breast with 2 c green beans, small glass skim milk
    S - NSA fudgsicle

    Tuesday :
B - 2 poached eggs with 1/2 c celery sticks, small glass skim milk
    S - 15 almonds
L - taco bake with a green pepper
    S - cheese stick
D - 4 oz. turkey breast with a salad of 1 1/2 c spinach, a handful of grape tomatoes and 2 T italian dressing, small glass skim milk
    S - NSA fudgsicle

    Wednesday:
B - 2 hard boiled egg whites with 1/2 cucumber, small glass skim milk
    S - 15 almonds
    L - taco bake
    S - cheese stick
D - SBD pork & green beans dinner
S - NSA fudgsicle - and a spoonful of icing from the cake I made for DH

    Thursday:
B - 2 hard boiled egg whites with 1/2 cucumber
    S - 15 almonds
L - taco bake (from your recipe forums) with a salad of 1 1/2 c spinach, a handful of grape tomatoes and 2 T italian dressing
    S - cheese stick
D - 4 oz. turkey breast with 4 lettuce leaves, small glass skim milk
No snack yet today, but I'll probably have a fudgsicle again.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
  • Looks good to me. However, you should increase your dairy to the recommended 2 - 2 1/2 cups per day. Have you tried running your food throught www.fitday.com ? Your last two breakfasts look very skimpy with just egg white and cucumber and milk one day! Even with a 4 oz. of milk, it's 88 calories - way too low.
  • Hi and welcome to the beach
  • Don't forget your water and exercise...
