Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself... I've been lurking for a few weeks and have posted a few times, but never officially jumped in.
I'm a 32yo guy and guess I'm a fat chick too (although I'll grow up to be a rooster)

I'm currently a nursing student and work pt in a dementia unit at a nursing home.
A few weeks ago, my doc told me I had to lose at least 40 lbs or risk having a heart attack. So, I began my diet. Am doing well enough... 15 pounds in 3.5 weeks... just by changing a few of my nastier habits, like scarfing a whole big bag of Doritos at the computer every couple of days and drinking 8 25.oz bottles of Pepsi a day... YIKES! I'm also trying to quit smoking using Chantix. My quit date is December 13th.
Anyway, last night I ended up in the Emergency Room with heart pain. I had to spend the night in their Cardiac ward, hooked up to a monitor all night and then have a stress test today. So... even though I knew what I had to do, it was my real wake-up call.
I figured that I would officially join in here to make myself accountable and get some much needed support. I'm following the YOU: On a diet lifestyle program with a few tweaks (cannot stand fish!) and as soon as I get my treadmill for Christmas, I'll be starting to train for a 5k using the Couch Potato program.
I think that's about it... look forward to getting to know many of you.
