Good morning! Just sent hubby off to his job and am catching up on my emails, etc. I simmered a turkey carcass all night in the crockpot and later I'll make some turkey and veggie soup. The cats will get the bones and Goldie, the dog will get some of the broth. Nothing goes to waste!
It's warming up outside a bit although we still have that ugly wind out of the North. I'm going to vacuum (with my new cleaner), clean a bit of the upstairs and then sew.
So..everyone have a good day now and God bless!
Thanks Ruth, I would love some Canadian bacon. Is it better served in Canada?
Tonight the boys have tennis class at 5:00, my dr appt at 6:00 and Don starts religous ed at 6:30. I have to rely on friends to transport the boys. Dh has raquetball and refused to give it up. I have rescheduled my dr appt 3 times, so I refuse to do it again. I do not like relying on friends to help, especially on Don's first day of class. But it just cannot be avoided.
Nice hearing from Linda via Ruth! I think scones are a great choice, and how often will you get this chance, Enjoy Yourself!
I am pretty tired this morning, TOM has paid a visit and I'm feeling really sluggish. At least the the wether matches my mood, grey and rainy. The weatherman even said thatthe wind chill is down to -1!! Dental appointment this morning and some light housecleaning.
Here's an inspirational story--got off the phone with a long-time friend who lives in Houston and she told me she had her baby--a little girl she named Kya. The K stands for the father's name, the A stands for her name and they are going to tell her when she grows up a bit more that the Y is for YOU! Isn't that nice? Why inspirational? The baby was born on Tuesday September 11th, just an affirmation that life still goes on even after so much death...
Have a great day everyone and I hope you all make it on program today!
I feel great this morning! Dropped off my youngest son for band practice and 6:30 (yes it is still dark at that time) and came on into town and beat all the traffic and ended up at the park at 7:00 for a good 40 minute walk with the birds chearping and the squirrels running around. It was sooooooo nice!
I did something yesterday that we do not get to do often in Louisiana - I walked at noon outside at the park and did not melt - it was actually nice. The park is shady so it was very comfortable and great to be outside.
TIPPY - I see you ended up getting a new vacuum cleaner - what kind did you finally decide on? do you like it?
LEENS - Great determination! Got a question - would you mind posting exactly what you ended up eating yesterday??? I saw on your post that at 2:00 my time all you had was 2 cups of coffee and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. That didn't sound like much to me at all and I would have been absolutely starving by that time if that was all I had to eat. Just wondered what you ended up eating for the whole day? Nosey Rosey here!
I love it whenever yall post what you've eaten for the day - it gives me good ideas!
DONDAR - your house sounds like mine with everybody running different directions! I have 2 boys - 17 and 13. Do you have 2 or more?
SCOOBY2 - congratulations on the 13 minutes on the treadmill before work! I know how hard it is to get that exercise in before going to work but it sure starts my day off right when I can do that! IMHO I think walking on a treadmill is harder then just walking on a flat surface outside or at the mall! Great walking!
RUTH - I can smell your breakfast from here! YUMMY! How's the nose by the way? All healed up? Any word on the chatroom? Will it be up and running anytime soon?
MAMAJ - how are thing at your house? better yet? Are your vehicles back running again? We can't hardly survive without our vehicles!
Hi all. Just to let you know that the chat is now up and running and I am there now - just waiting if anybody wants to join me! Maybe it is still too early for you all!
I thought about starting this daily thread when I went to bed last night, because we finally got to bed at about 1 a.m., Mountain time. I thought maybe I'd surprise everyone, but you know what -bed just sounded too good!
Unfortunately we were up because the plumbing in our house has decided to back up, big time. We dug up the septic tank lid, thinking that it was full, but it wasn't. Then we did all sorts of snaking and stuff, but still to no avail. I know that most of you know exactly how much fun a husband can be in situations like this and mine performed as expected, earning him the title of SH for the day. Kind of goes well with plumbing problems, doesn't it? Anyway, he's taken the day off to get this fixed. Oh joy, I get to help, somehow finding time to do all the other stuff that I had already planned.
I am still OP, down 12 pounds. My Halloween Challenge goal was 15, so I think I'll make it. Is anyone still doing the Challenge? I posted last week, but there was only one response. I like having a short term goal, because the long-term one get overwhelming sometimes.
Bye for now, (imagine me with a plunger waving at you)
