Default Remeron question

I am just tapering off of Remeron right now. My doctor thinks it is the reason my weight is not budging despite my best efforts. Fortunately I haven't gained while on it - but haven't lost either.

Anyway, has anyone else taken Remeron in the past? I am wondering how long it took for your metabolism to return to "normal"? Did you notice you were able to lose after coming off of it?

hey lifeguard,
i was on Remeron for about 6-8 months and found that I gained weight
(about 20 lbs). Seems that while it helped my sleeplessness and anxiety it also made me crave carbs and I was constantly hungry.
I stopped it last Feb and it took till Sept/Oct to start noticing a weight loss..
I really had to kick up the exercise and watch my food intake, but I think the weight asocame off cause I went through a really busy stressful time with school.
I'm sure it's different for everyone..but expect a few months before your metabolism gets back to being normal. Just keep up the exercise and good eating habits and your body will get there-be patient
I know how hard it can be

all the best

I took Remeron for a few months several years ago. Maintaining my weight was more than the usual struggle and I gained about 5 pounds despite tons of exercise and careful eating. I think the effects pretty much stopped when I was completely off the stuff. It didn't really help my sleep problems, either-- so it was a totally useless experience for me.
