Default New Here...Slow Loser!

Hey everyone!

I'm new here, to this forum at least, not to this site! I've been trying to lose about 15-20 Lb's in the past 9 months, and so far have only lost 4 Lb's. I've been calorie counting but haven't been too successful with it at all. I always seem to forget to write things down or look it up! Terrible I know!

My Exercise consists of walking about an hour 5 times a week, and resistance training with ball and bands at home about 2-3 times a week. Not really following any routine or anything, I seem to get bored really easy with them, so while I watch TV, I kind of "play".... Not sure if it's effective.

I have obstacles...low self confidence, self esteem, and a non-supportive spouse. It's been a challenge. I have nobody to keep me accountable if I fall off the wagon, or push me when I don't feel like doing anything. It's time to kick my butt in gear!

Hey Mickey to Featherweights!!

You've come to the right place for accountability and support. The Featherweights have a weekly challenge accountability thread and you are more than welcome to join us.

I feel that you may need more intensity in your workouts I don't think just playing will do the trick in the long run. Our bodies are meant to be challenged and pushed.

Good luck... Where in Ontario are you from? I'm in Cornwall...

Hi Ilene!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm North of Toronto in the Barrie area. Great to meet a fellow Ontarioian (is that word?)

I guess I should have explained my "play"....what I mean is I don't follow a video or DVD, but instead do my own thing with my band, leg stretches, arm curls, that sort of thing. things I've found online. Following a video gets boring for me, so I prefer to do it this way. I've just started, as of last night....doing exercises on the stairs, as I live in an attic apartment, and have a huge staircase that leads up to my place. Why not make use of it? I plan to go up and down the stairs about twenty times, not sure what it will really do, but it's gotta do something, right?
