Default What brand of skin care/cosmetics do you use?

I've been using Mary Kay for awhile, but after my very short experience as a consultant, I decided to not use it anymore (let's just say based on mine and others experience with the company, I feel I no longer want to support this company with my money).

So now I am looking for a new skin care/cosmetics line to switch to. What do you use? What do you like? What do you dislike?

The only brand I've ever used is Clinique.

My dad had really bad skin when he was younger, so my mom was always afraid that I would too. She took me to the dermatolgist as a precaution, when I started going through puberty. Anyway, the dermatologist suggested Clinique, so that's what my mom started wearing and that's the only kind I've ever worn, since I was 13 and got to start wearing makeup.

Actually my whole family uses Clinique. Me, my mom, both of my aunts, and my two girl cousins.

I prefer Philosophy cleansers/moisturizers and Bare Escentuals makeup. Both are a little on the pricier side, but last a really long time. Cleansers and moisturizers are about $30, but last a couple months each. The foundation from Bare escentuals is $25, but easily lasts me at least 4 months.

I've always wanted to try Bare Escentuals, but they don't sell it anywhere in Oklahoma. I'd have to go to Texas to get it.

I have no brand loyalty whatsoever ... I use whatever works. Aveda mascara, Mac foundation, Maybelline eye shadow, BeneFit lip/cheek tint, E.L.F., Burt's Bees, etc.

I use Aveeno for cleansers, creams, etc.
I don't wear much in the way of cosmetics, and I don't wear it often, so I can afford to spend a little extra - I use the Inner Light Tinted Moisturizer and the Mascara Plus Rose. Otherwise i have some tinted lip gloss from the Body Shop, and that's about it.

I'm loyal to certain products but not to just any one brand!

Face Wash - L'Oreal Pure Zone or Origins Liquid Crystal
Facial Moisturizer - Oil of Olay Complete Defense
Foundation - DiorSkin Pure Light
Mascara - Lancome Extencils
Eyelash Curler - Shu Uemura
Eyeliner - Stila or Benefit's Bad Gal
Lip gloss - Lorac or TheBalm

Those are my basics.......but I've got tons more!

I just recentley tried Bare Escentuals and love it. If you don't have a store near you go to saphora.com. You can buy it on line and it will arrive in a few days. I suggest buying the starting kit because it comes with the brushes and it will save you many $$$$.

About a year ago I started using Arbonne products. I don't have many of their make up items, though--too pricey. But the skin care stuff, because you don't use much at all, last forever, so the price isn't too bad when you average it all out. There are some products that I like more than other (love the eye cream, can leave the night face cream). Best part, when ordering you can sometimes get a "grab bag" of items (closeout items) for $20. My last order, I got the entire line of summer cosmetics plus some special lotions. Regular retail for my grab bag would have been close to $150 or more.

I have extremely sensitive skin and rosecea, so use Aveda's AllSensitive cleanser and moisturizer, and their eye cream (I also use a prescription cream for my rosecea).

I use a combination of Clinique and Aveda for makeup since I have allergic reactions to almost everything else (you should have seen me after I had a Estee Lauder makeover - my face was bright red and swollen for days!!) I love Clinique's super powder/foundation, their lip glosses, and brow shadow (instead of pencil). I use Aveda eye shadow, blusher, and eye and lip pencils. I use their brown eye shadow - slightly wet - and a very narrow brush as eyeliner. Oh, and I use Lancome waterproof mascara - it doesn't bother me and it stays put.

I am actually waiting for my Bare Escentuals to arrive in the mail right now..lol. I've always just used joe-blow makeup and have finally decided that I would like to try something like BE. I've heard a lot of great things about it!! I actually ordered my BE from www.colorfulsprinkles.com ......she has sample sizes of everything. I figured it's a really cheap way to try the makeup before committing to the higher priced full sizes. I've never (knock on wood) had skin issues which I'm very grateful for.....but everyone I have talked to just loves the "look" and feel of BE....plus it's extremely good for your skin and a little bit goes a long way.

Hugs,
Liv

Olay skin care...the foaming face wash, toner & Olay Total Effects moisturizer.

Bare Escentuals make up I threw all my liquid makeup out years ago and would never go back to anything else! (Ebay has great deals on Bare Escentuals & lots of sample sizes)

I don't usually wear makeup except if I'm in a wedding! LOL! I've got VERY sensitive skin. I actually find that if I don't use cleansers all the time, my skin is pretty good. I've never had a pimple in my life, which people are shocked...I don't really do much to my face at all. I wear sunscreen, but no foundation or anything... the basics of my make-up include mascara, and little blush (sometimes), and lip gloss and I'm done! Nothing special here.

I use and LOVE Burts Bee's. I use their exfoliant and make-up, for lotion I use Aveeno.
