Default Any Ideas For Bridal Shower Games?

This is Angie - Gary's wife --- I am hosting a bridal shower for my future daughter-in-law. Does anyone know of some simple, but fun games to play?

Hi,

One of the women I work with recently hosted a bridal party. She got someone from work to come in and act as though they were at the wrong Bridal shower. She comes in, no one should know who she is. Everyone starts introducing themselves when the guest reveals she might be at the wrong place.

At this moment she starts digging through her purse for the invitation. She removes several things from her purse, maybe even some funny items before finally finding the correct invitation.

Once she realizes the error, she collects her belongings and leaves. Then, you pass around some paper and pens and say "Jane Doe had 8 items in her purse, what were they."

Of course, most people are far too embarassed to look at the poor woman.

I remember playing a scrambled word game that had to do with a wedding. Such as bouquet, bridesmaid, bride, groom, flowers, cake, groomsmen, bouttanier, candles, presents, lingerie, honeymoon and such. First to complete correctly got a small gift.

We actually did something that was more a game for the bride. We had the groom answer a whole bunch of questions about himself & their relationship. (Where did they meet, what was he wearing on the first date, what was his favorite stuffed animal as a child, etc.) And the bride had to answer. It was 3 groups - Easy, medium & hard. The groom actually took a lot of time a recorded his answers on the computer so we could play them after each question. It was a lot of fun.

The rest of the games were "themed" as we had an 80's party. 80's trivia, etc.

This one is a little risque.......I first played it at my SIL wedding shower.

First you have everyone write down the least favorite household chore and the reason why. Then, when everyone is done, have them read out loud what they had written except that they now have to replace the household chore with the word 'sex'.

My dhs ederly grandmother wrote......

"I hate (sex) because my knees get sore from all the kneeling"

She hated scrubbing the floor

Edited to say, maybe this one might go over at the bachelerette party, and I hope I didn't offend anyone

Like I said, a little risque, but I'm telling you it broke the ice!

Here is a game that always gets people laughing.

Give everyone 10 pennies to start (or you can use beans, etc.). Then sit in a circle and each person tells something they have never done. Anyone who HAS done that has to get up and put a penny into the jar in the middle. The person who has penny/ies left last wins.

And yes, Hale Mary... yours is hysterical!

I have never done this one but you could do a 24 hour bridal shower. What you do is have every guest come at a different hour of the day, example: 1am, 8am, 12 noon, ect.... and each person has to bring the bride to be a gift that is appropriate for that time of day. Say for 6pm a kitchen item might be appropriate for cooking dinner, 10pm might be some naughtly items!!! Sounds like fun but a little unconventional.

At my shower we did a Bingo game while I was opening my gifts. Make up Bingo cards with the spaces empty, have your guests fill in the boxes with what they think the bride to be might recieve as a gift. As the bride opens her gifts the guest cross' off the item if it's listed on her card. First to yell Bingo gets a prise. Sometimes gift opening can get boring for guests and this game keeps ppl busy during the hours of gift opening.

We also did a little trivia game to see how much people knew about our relationship. There were questions like... Where did the couple meet? How did he purpose? What month and year did we meet? Funny how the people you think would know nothing knew the most!

Have fun!

I threw a bridal shower for my friend a few years ago. One of the most fun events was creating a wedding dress out of toilet paper! You would have people pair up and then one person is the model and the other person is the bride. You then have the bride pick her favorite gown. It was so funny.

I am the QUEEN of shower games!! I have a hilarious baby shower game that involves melting chocolate bars in diapers and guessing the candy, its gross but always gets a TON of laughs!

I was rolling laughing about the one with the girl pretending to be at the wrong shower, OMG! I don't think I have a friend with that kind of nerve, I don't even think I could pull that one off myself, and I do some pretty crazy things! And the one about the chores, subbing the word sex for the chore, and I was dying!!!! Too funny!

One we enjoyed was for a girl at work shower, I had all the girls from work write down their wedding song and we did a matching game, the hint being the one of us whose song was a Sinatra or an Elvis song vs. whose was a more modern song (gave us an idea of the person's age). We enjoyed that one and it was simple. I like the one too where the bride to be walks around the room with a tray of objects (housewares, etc) and then leaves the room and instead of asking about the tray objects you ask whether or not she was wearing bracelets, earrings, what color top she had on, most people were too busy memorizing the objects and not paying attention to the girl. And I always like the trivia games too.

my SIL had a great game, at my bridal shower...

there were three gift bags, each one full of various candies (Snickers, Big Hunk, Rocky Road, Abba Zabbas, Milky Way, etc.) and a stick of glue. she had everyone divide up into 3 groups, and each group got a poster board - one was "The First Date," the second was "The Wedding Night," and the third was "10 Year Anniversary"

each group had to write out a story, or advice, using as many of the candy bars/packets as possible, and then when they were all done, each group read it aloud.

dh's grandma turned bright red. it was a little risque, but nothing bad. it was DEFINITELY funny!

Thanks so much ladies - I used your ideas for the shower and everyone was rolling on the floor
There were soooo many good ideas , but you can only do so much in 2 hours.
