Default Took a big step

Today I put together a letter clearly stating to my plastic surgeon that I was demanding that VISA reverse the payment he had taken on our card and the reasons I made the demand. It was a clear, concise letter outlining all that was promised, (including copies of his email stating absolutely what he intended), what was not delivered. That there is still sufficient pannus left to qualify for a second panniculectomy. The way my midline is now no longer midline. How lopsided I am. The loss of sensation in my genitals. (Only recently discovered this goes beyond just the loss of surface sensation on the skin, its deep - like when you have your mouth frozen at the dentist deep sorry if its tmi). And of course the ongoing drainage issues.

This was in no way a settlement demand. It was about me stating what was done to me, how I've been treated, the damage and the early manifestations of long term consequences. Believe me, speaking on my own behalf is the only thing keeping me from going under with all of this right now.

I attached photographs, copies of his email stating what he intended to do and why, and sent his copy by registered mail while I also hand delivered copies of all of this to the same Head of the Medical Services Committee who approved Insurance coverage for the panniculectomy portion.

Anyway, the point to all of this being I'm NOT being silent. I'm NOT going off like a dog with my tail between my legs. I'm NOT going to be dismissed like the fat woman so often is, even if its the revised version of the fat woman carved out of her own flesh.

So for once, I'm deciding I matter. I count. I deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
