Anyway, I'm Lisa and I just stumbled on this board this weekend and I think it's great, a little bit overwhelming but very informative.
I live in Boston, am obsessed with the Red Sox who are currently losing 3-0 and am a Boston public school teacher. I switched careers from high tech to teaching a year and a half ago and I've lost 20 lbs by just being more active and busy. Also I do not have the disposable income I once had so I eat a lot more at home and can plan better meals.
I workout a lot but I still have about 25 lbs to lose so I decided it's time to concentrate more on the diet, I'm glad I found this place to help me out in that department.

John, that question is usually posted in the FAQ section of the forum. Basically you go to the homepage of the weight loss community forum, then you decide which category you want your thread to be posted under (ex, Calorie Counters, General Chatter, 30 something, etc). You click the category (not someone's discussion thread like this one) and then on that page will list the latest threads people have posted. Go to the bottom of the page and you will see "new thread" button. Click it and viola you are on your way to starting a thread.
User Stats are done by going up to this very page and seeing the purple bar. On it is "user cp". The stats page should be in there somewhere.
To put in your own personal stats: look at the top of the page. You will see "Welcome, jqpublic 1" in bold. Under that you will see a link titled "Private Messages". Click on that and you will be taken to your account information pages. This is where you can choose an avatar, enter your start/current/goal weight and height info (if desired), put in a motto or sig- all that fun stuff.
Welcome, I know it can be a bit confusing at first. Feel free to ask questions, you'll soon get the hang of it!
