Default 101 Tips & Tricks - Day 15

Tip #15 - Become a morning eater

Members of the breakfast club who eat a substantial morning meal burn 5% more calories a day than those who shirk food in the a.m. And one study found that 78% of participants in The National Weight Control Registry (NWCR) which has tracked about 6,000 people who have lost at least 30 lbs and maintained that for at least a year, reported eating breakfast every day. This can help control appetite later in the day.

What did Jorge tell us - breakfast (or eating within an hour of waking) is the key. You don't have to eat breakfast foods either -- I have been know to have leftover grilled steak or chicken if I'm not in the mood for eggs. I also find that protein at breakfast helps me stay full much longer than just carbs and fruit.

That is what I like about this program, eating "breakfast" within 1 hour of waking up. I am not an early riser right now, and get up at different times each day, and I really do not care for much breakfast food.

I can't eat either when I first get up.....have to have a cup of coffee and get on-line for about 20mins. Then I can eat.

I agree, I think a protein at breakfast helps us have more energy. Sometimes if I am in a hurry I will put a slice of cheese on my toast and that also is a good afternoon snack if you use lite bread.
