hey all!! I just got back from a mini vacation with my boys and I noticed no one had started this weeks thread yet so here goes...
headed to Massanutten Resort for a freebie hotel/waterpark stay with my 2 boys and a girlfriend and her boy. What fun! Now I headed there on day 7 of wave 1. I hvae loved wave 1 and tried really hard to be frugal and sensible at the same time but sadly frugal won out
As I explained to DH, for me who has been eating wonderfully on wave 1 and enjoying it so much-I ate terrible. For someone who eats crap all the time, I didn't do too badly. Basically it wasn't Sonoma-for goodness sakes I think a PB&J on white bread even made it's way past my lips but it wasn't all donuts and transfats either...
ok so i"m off to join the challenge post. Gotta rethink my plan here. I'm thinking of restarting or at the very least extending wave 1 by a few days. Sadly I also pulled a muscle in my leg/groin. I'm not sure the severity yet but it's sure to put a crimp in my exercise plan, at least hte cardio portion...
I'm very excited to see so many newbies joining. I want the Sonoma board to rule the world!!!!
I'm here ... trying to decide if I should start Wave 1 over or not.
First off, I hope you had fun at the waterpark! I know my kids would have loved it!
I was thinking about starting Wave 1 again, I did okay food wise today... until after dinner. I wanted the lowfat brownie yogurt, so I ate it! I'm so bad, I just love my desserts. I did great on Wave 1 before, but I can't find my motivation to start it again. Right now I'm marinating a flank steak for tomorrow, so I hope I can just stay away from the sweet stuff.
Today's menu:
B: WG cereal and milk
L: Pork wrap
D: Taco and WG rice
D: Lowfat brownie yogurt
BTW, I did some more research on the Whole Grain Spanish Rice-a-Roni, and I've convinced myself that it IS Sonoma friendly. There is NO pasta in there, and it does carrie the WG label that is standard on WG foods now.
I need to lose another 10 pounds, so I really need to whip my butt and mind in gear to STICK to plan! It's so hard though....
Starting the challenge tomorrow that Angela presented. Which means Wave one again and a real push for exercise. Have I been eating Sonoma? No I have been playing around with it and that will get me nowhere near my 60 lb. lost I need to do.
So its onward and upward with a very positive feeling again I know its hard to redo something once its been done, but for myself I have to forgetwhat I did before and forge forward as if this is the start of a new beginning which in reality it is. Sucess to all in their attempt to get to goal and believe me we all will,no matter how many times we restart. It'll click in,just don't give up the ship and forget about yesterday Go team go
Sissy - thanks for the pep talk. I strive on motivation.
I completed my first day and am full steam ahead on day 2. So far so good.
Yesterday
B: WG cereal & FF milk
L: Salad with grilled chicken
D (actually Supper in my area): Balsamic Chicken, green peppers & Cauliflower with piece of WG bread.
I was surprised to see my youngest (age 2) eat supper so well.
I will admit to one diet soda which is a HUGE success to me since I typically will drink 4 Pepsi in one day.
Today (so far)
B: WG cereal & FF milk
L: Express Wrap with sundried tomato spread
D/S: Something grilled with zuccini (I have so much in my garden)
morning! Not a great start as I willingly skipped the gym. I may go later but after being out with a girlfriend I desperately needed some extra sleep this morning. Also I wanted to heal up my body.
I'm off to the grocery store to buy healthy stuff.
B eggs w/WW toast-hubby made it for me in bed but brought me no veggies so I'll double up later, didn't want to seem ungrateful, lol
L portabella wrap
D ??
edited-ended up at the gym afterall and worked my butt off so I'm def raring to go on this challenge...

Sorry I've been AWOL for a few days. I went on vacation, came home to a houseguest, had a birthday, then DF had a birthday and well ~ I've been just awful! I started a challenge b/c I really need a kick to the butt. I'm not sure if I'll be posting my menus here or on the 'challenge' thread. Either way, I won't be a total stranger - promise!!
Looks like you're all doing pretty well - keep it up!
Hello ladies, I finished my first day. I like my red wine in the evening so it will be a long 10 days!!!
Breakfast - Casual omlette off the Allrecipes.com
Lunch - salad with lots of veggies, small amount of egg and turkey, vinegar dressing
snack - popcorn ( that may not have been a good choice, but I was at the movies with my two grandsons)
Dinner - salad w/red wine vinegar and 1 tsp. olive oil
White turkey chili off of Allrecipes site
Yesterdays meals:
B: Cereal
L: Salad w/Chix
D: Flank steak, WG rice and salad
S: Handful of WG cereal and watermelon
I was really looking forward to doing Wave 1 again, but I think I may need my fruit. At this point, I'm just attempting to eat Sonoma friendly. If it includes fruit, that's fine. If not, I'm okay w/that too.
So far today I've only had breakfast of cereal. Lunch and dinner are TBD, but I'm guessing a salad w/left over flank steak and maybe shrimp portifino.
Congrats to all who are trying their very best to eat healthier Luv,whatever helps you with your success,if its the fruit you need, why not We can't succeed if we are feeling deprived of something. Wave 2 is great and you know you'll lose. I only started back on Wave 1 myself because I got into so much sugar that it was ridiculous,I was hungry ever hour on the hour When I fall off I go completely overboard. But however its the spirit of all the girls on these different threads that I read give me the boost I need. Angela my dear friend has really made me refocus and reminded me not to give up but keep coming back and trying. We will succeed and there is no time limit altho for me there should be(LOL) If you knew how young I am then you would understand my laughter. Good day everyone I post on the Summer Challenge thread
I agree eating fruit certainly isn't like sitting around eating bon bons...wave 1 is great to curb yourcravings but if your past that sugary existance then go for it. Sounds like a nice wave 1.5. Nice job Luv
