Wink questions from someone considering the diet

I've only briefly looked into the diet, but I think it sounds great and would like to try it.

I'm guilty of skipping meals and being super restrictive of calories to try to speed up weight loss. I think I've done some damage to my metabolism from all the time I've skipped breakfast, eaten an apple for lunch, and a salad for dinner. I'd always gain the weight back and it'd be harder to lose the next time b/c I'd have to be even MORE calorie restrictive.

ANYWAY..anyone been on the diet for a while and have any advice?

I had a few questions...
I know you're supposed to drink 8 glasses of water, but do de-caf non-caloric beverages count? (like de-caf tea). Besides the 8 glasses, can you drink coffe and diet coke (I need caffeine! haha).

What do the 8min exercises consist of? As a person who does at least an hhour of cardio everyday, it's hard for me to see 8min doing much for you.

I think I'm gonna go get the book today, but I just wanted to ask ya'll first
Thanks!

Hi and welcome Ellakay.....

I just posted the water topic that will answer your question....Water 101!

Buying the book is the best way to do it. The 8mm exercises are shown in the book and explained. I use to do them every a.m. but never really noticed a difference. BUT many women swear by doing them....so I think it depends on how you do them with lots of power and determination..I belive that I did not put the correct effort into them.

But I did enjoy doing them and it was a great way to get the energy going in the a.m. I may start doing them again.

Let us know how you like the book and we are looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi and Ellakay. For me on the water, I don't count my coffee or if I have a diet Dr. Pepper. I just make sure I get my water in. It's really done wonders for my skin. I too was a skipper on meals and the 3hrs has helped keep me balanced. No more afternoon slumps. If you have a library near by you might check to see if they have Jorge's 8 minute workout books. I did them in the beginning but turned to other things. I think I will start doing them in the evenings though.
I hope you stick around.

Welcome Ellakay! I don't do the 8mm -- I didn't feel it was enough for me. I do an hour of cardio every morning along with 15-20 minutes of weight lifting. I work upper body one day and lower body the next. I wanted more than just the 8mm.
