HI all..
Its been a long time since I've been here.....I was here on a different name previously...but have since moved and changed email address and can't remember my old password and can't get it sent to my new one! So here I am..
For those of you that have been around for a while I use to be Pheonix....
I was living in Nova Scotia for about 3 years and we just moved to Houston about three weeks ago.
I am having a really hard time with the move, I hate being new!
The kids are now back in school, my dh is at his new job, and I'm just here! I'm starting to get depressed and feeling sorry for myself!
I gained back all 27 pds I lost, which of course is really helping the self-esteem thing....I've convinced myself no one will want to be friends with the new fat lady!
So I'm back at it again! With a vengence! Luckily for me DH is as gung-ho as I am and has about the same amount to lose as I do. We are both our worst enemies and our best supporters! If I keep it up he does, but he gives in too easily when I want to and vice-versa! The battle has begun!
I remember the wonderful support and caring I felt from these boards the last time I was here and knew to do this again I needed that! Maybe more so now due to the fact I feel so alone here.
Thanks for listening everyone....I hope I can be of some support to any that need it!
Hi Stacey and Welcome Back! I remember you! Chin up girl cause we're still here with support, carb dust brushing off and boot kickin'. 25_hopeful has even added duct tape to keep us in that LC wagon!
I remember when I first moved to Houston (more yrs ago than I'd like to admit! LOL) It was a rough adjustment the first six months. Hey, JHP and I are both here in Houston tho at totally different directions~~we might even be neighbors! And I have a wonderful friend who "dabbles" on her better days with LC!
Where in Houston are you? I'm out west, almost to Katy. I had a hard time adjusting when I moved here 8 years ago, but you'll do fine. My dh is l/c'ing also so I can relate to how you're each other's best support & worst enemies!
Welcome back!!!! I remember you...I always thought your posts were neat!!! Didn't you have a great big fire in your area when you were in Nova Scotia? Am I remembering correctly?
You just post your little heart out here..moving is hard and we are always around!
Wow, how nice to be remembered!!
Yes Peach, I was the one stuck in the big fire last summer! What a memory!
JHP, I'm in the Cy-Fair area, (at least I think thats what its called??!) I have a sister-in-law in Katy, although we aren't very close friends....
Ruth, I'm hoping to keep my honorary Canadian status for as long as they let me!! Wish I could have stayed, I loved it, but had to come back to the old US eventually I guess!
Thank you so much all of you for the warm welcome back...its nice to be here!
Quick question, well sort of....
I was doing the Protein Power Plan last time, don't think I'm doing anything exactly this time....just LC'ing it. But I am curious as to what is the best way to really jump start my body back on this, I remember the first time I lost alot right away, this week doesn't seem to be taking off as quickly. Also what is induction from Atkins???
Thanks for any advice!
Hi McMom! I'm from Nova Scotia so I can imagine how hard it must have been to leave that beautiful place!! Hang in there though. My question is also how to jump start a weight loss? I actually just started counting points ( from Weight Watchers) along with low carbing to see if I would have more success. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
He suggests that you only have 20 carbs the first week. If you strictly adhere to the program for the first two weeks, it should give you a major jumpstart (I've lost 48 pounds in 8 weeks on the program. Is this where I should say, "Individual results may vary."?)
My husbad and I are both on the program, and he is going just as well as I. Fortunately for me, we are our best supporters, and are totaly committed to losing our weight and maintaining with Atkins.
Best of luck to you. You too CAN do this!!!
