Default Hi!

My name is Jennie. I am not new to 3fatchicks.com. I guess I have been here off and on for a long time, but always in the SBD forum. I joined TOPS in January and have been losing/gaining the same few pounds since then, but have decided to finally take my weight loss seriously. I was really bad about not going to meetings. Then when the offices came for a vote, no one was volunteering for secretary, so I opened my big mouth and said "Well, if I do it I guess that means I have to show up every week". So, now I am secretary of my chapter.

Anyways, I have lost 6.5 pounds in the last 2 weeks. Plus, I gave the program on Mon night (it went good). I did the program that went over the Mediterranean way of eating. I am quite impressed. Not really with the info TOPS gave in the little program (barely skimmed the surface), but with the way of eating itself. I did a lot of my own research and that is mostly what I spoke on. I am going to continue this way of eating because of the health benefits.

I have a lot of weight to lose. I need to lose another 115 pounds. I am excited and scared at the same time. More excited than scared though I think I am gonna sign up to do another program and try to implement it for a couple months so I can report on it as well. Plus, for me it was a big reason for me to stick with it. When I wanted to cheat, I told myself I couldn't because this wasn't just for me. I was doing it so I could tell the group about it. I don't know if that's good or not, but it worked!

I am hoping to be around a lot (school and my daughter permitting) and I look forward to talking with all of you!

HI Jennie, Sounds like you found what works for you. I did a program on the Sonoma diet which is very similar to mediterranean diet. I try to follow those guidelines too. I have done south beach on and off and find I cant stick to it like I want to. I have been in Tops since 2000 and havent lost a significant amount of weight.. I am trying so hard to change that.. I took position of leader this past year and I think that has helped me some.... There are lots of nice people on here to chat with, just jump right in... Take care and good luck with your weight loss journey.. .Barb

Welcome, Jennie! I tend to learn towards a Med diet, too. I think it sounds the healthiest (low saturated fat, lots of vegetables and fruits, WINE).

I'm currently the weight recorder and acting as the treasurer while ours is on vaca.

Talking Welcome

Jennie,

I too am a secretary for our TOPs...the same club that IndiaCatz is Leader of. I have been in TOPs for over 7 years now. Was at my goal in 1998, but then put it back on when I stopped attending regularly. I was the Weight Recorder for 3 years prior to this one and that's when I began to get more in control and motivated. Attending meetings is really key (at least for me!)

Hope to hear from you often.

Lyn

Thanks everyone! I have been doing good this week, but then I went to Red Lobster for dinner! Eek! I didn't do too terrible though. I still ate less calories for the day than my maintaining # though so I guess it's not too bad!
