Default Another Newbie

Hello! I am new to this forum as well as to the Sonoma diet. Today is my day 1 of First Wave. I need lots of help. I am so unsure of what I am allowed to eat and don't want to screw it up right out of the gate, by the way, I don't have the book yet. Just going off of a friend who has the book.

B - 1 slice WG toast/coffee
S -almonds
L- baby spinach salad w/ bell peppers, tomatoes, brocc, roasted chicken
S-?
D-probably same as lunch?

Is this ok? Help!

Welcome,

Glad to have you. Please do get a copy of the book, because right off the bat you aren't eating enough at breakfast

Check out the two stickies at the top of the forum

What is the Sonoma Diet? and What you can expect to eat on this diet

Thanks for the advice! Breakfast has always been my downfall as it is. I usually never give myself enough time to prepare something. Maybe I should incorporate a hard boiled egg w/ my toast?

Hard boiled egg - half cup of cottage cheese - 2 tbs of peanut butter - some sort of protein to go with that starch :-)

And you can always do a cup of whole grain cereal with a cup of milk...that or the toast and pb are definitely the easiest bf I've found...(I don't like eggs)

Thanks for the advice. I have so much to learn, it is a little overwhelming at first. My lunch salad was yummy, don't think I mind having it again for dinner!

Hi--I'm also a Mel. Just bought the book, what I've read so far makes a lot of sense. Would suggest getting it--looks like a good cookbook too. I got mine for $18 at Bimart, and have seen it at Costco. Check your library--bet it's there for free. They also have a website, but it looks like the monthly fees are a lot more than the book. I'm going to start wave 1 Monday--heck it's June in Oregon and there's a flat of strawberries in my future this weekend. Good luck!

Hello, I just ordered the book today. It won't be here for 3-5 days but I want to start now!! I am on day 2 of the horrible cabbage soup diet and can't take it anymore. Is there any advice on what I can buy at the store just to get me through the first few days until the book comes? Thanks.

Welcome. A few places to check out: A couple of the stickies at the top of this forum. One is titled What you can expect to eat on this diet. This should be fairly helpful. Also check out the recipe sub forum, also at the top of the page. Look at the Wave 1 recipes for ideas.

Don't forget to join the exercise sticky with your exercise!

Hi Weeble - If you are looking for Wave 1 meal plans you may want to look thru the thread "anyone fancy starting (or restarting) wave 1". A few of us gals posted there while on Wave 1 and many of the posts include menu's of each day. A few pointers ~ Be careful on oil, just 3 servings a day (1 tsp each) and limit your dairy alot. GOOD LUCK!!
