Default bipolar II

Anyone have any experience with bipolar II or "soft" bipolar? I've been doing a lot of reading on the subject lately & find it fascinating how well it describes my "depression". Just hoping to get some more insight.

I am bipolar II. I was diagnosed in 1998 by my psychologist during an episode of panic attacks. I control it with meds that unfortunately have caused weight gain, but I don't have any "symptoms" anymore.

Have you looked up the DSM IV online to try and determine if you fall into the category? I had many of the traits they described.

I have depression with an anxiety disorder called GAD ( generalized anxiety disorder)
I take wellbutrin and lexapro. I'm doing well, but the meds make me tired.. and yes they can make you gain weight!

Thanks,

I have been reading a book on this & the descriptions fit me a little too closely! I am definitely going to investigate this further with my psychiatrist.

I have bipolar II and control it with meds. I've been stable for about a year now after having had several years of severe depressions. The descriptions I've read of it have been dead on accurate for me as well. The trick is finding the right treatment, I think.
