Default Anyone on Wave 2 but still eating Wave 1 meals???

Hi everyone!

I'm nearing the end of WAVE 1 - and I know this may sound crazy - but there are lots of Wave 1 recipes that I havn't tried yet but would like to! I am wondering if anyone on Wave 2 has been substituting Wave 1 meals here and there? And, if so, are you still losing?? It seems like it should be okay since Wave 1 meals have less calories, but I'm worried there is some fine balance to all the foods and if I'm not sticking exactly to Wave 2 proportions then i won't lose....Any suggestions??

THANKS !

I don't think there is any problem substituting an occasional Wave 1 meal for Wave 2, but I wouldn't make a habit of it. Wave 1 is a bit restrictive from nutritious things like fruit. A lot of the reason you lose more on Wave 1 is water as well as the initial Whoosh many go through when starting a new eating regimen. Never forget this plan is about more than just weight loss. it is about good health and limiting yourself from certain items can cut you out from getting certain micro and macro nutrients.

It really boils down to calories in and calories out. The proporations are there as a guide , they are not set in stone. The idea is to re-educate us on what a normal portion looks like in our Supersized society.

I like a lot of the Wave 1 recipes and eat some fairly regularly now that I'm on Wave 2. BUT I turn them into Wave 2 appropriate meals by adding fruit. Also, for those Wave 1 meals that are meat and veggie only, I add a grain and just arrange my plate according to Wave 2 guidelines. Or I may substitute veggies to make sure I'm getting balanced nutrition.

Thank you both for the insight. I am really happy with this plan so far. Eating NATURAL is so good, I can feel it all over my body. I think you are both right, it is definitely about the plan - watching portion sizes and having enough variety to get your vital nutrients as well, but also about being flexible and really paying attention to make sure you get balanced nutrition.

I may have a Wave 1 meal here and there but I like the idea of modifying it for balanced nutrition. Thank you both!!!

That's what I've been doing. The way that I read the book was that all Wave 1 foods were appropriate for Wave 2, you just have added vegetables and the addition of fruits.
