Red face Help for PCOS

While I am not a medical professional, I have suffered from PCOS for my adult life. I was diagnosed about 12 years ago with no hope for treatment. I had many of the symptoms including uncontrollable weight (mostly in my mid-section), infertility, excessive body hair, irregular menstral cycles, and mood swings to name a few.

A few years ago, I read some articles suggestion that low carb diet would help. Simultaneously, I found another key to my weight control - prescription natural Progesterone cream. The combination of both seemed to help control my weight, and for the first time in my life, I had an almost regular menstral cycle.

Last year, after 8 years of trying (we still went to a fertility doctor but it happened on the first try!), we finally had a baby boy! Of course, with that pregnancy, I gained 60 lbs. You know how after a while of trying something, you think you can do it on your own. So for a year after his birth, I tried to lose weight. I dieted, exercised, and nursed! Nothing worked.

Finally, I asked my Obgyn prescribed the natural Progesterone cream again, and that in addition to the low carb diet with exercise is bringing the weight down again.

Natural progesterone is just that 'natural'. So it doesn't disturb my body as the synthetic versions do. The result is slight at first, and you might not even think it does anything, but for me, it is the answer. And although I did not use it while nursing, he said it would have been perfectly safe.

We're not suppose to say names of Pharmacies, but the best formula for me has been from a mail order pharmacy (natural based prescriptions) out of state in WI.

I hope this helps some of you out there. Because believe me, these feelings you have are not in your imagination.

My doc put me on NPC 12 months ago. That teamed with some other meds have definately helped just about all aspects of my symptoms. Ive lost weight (low carbing), my oily spotty skin has improved drastically, my head hair has thickened up after becoming depressingly thin and I have the energy to excercise. I am in the same thinking as you with the NPC, I think this natural form of hormone has the potential to help a lot of people.

Default Wild Yam works too

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 6 years ago. I have been off all medications (e.g. Glucophage) for about 3 years now. Using Wild Yam and Red Clover herb capsules (with help of a holistic doctor) to manage my hormone levels. It seems to be working - my periods are regular.

After a lifetime of irregular periods (I had one ever 3 months just prior to PCOS diagnosis), it's amazing to me that herbs work as well.

Ive never hear do progesterone cream before...the only thing I've been on was diane and metformin 1300mg/day not at the same time. metformin seems to help me the most if you can get past the horrid side effects. Id rather try soemthign else and now that my baby is a month old and I am not nursing I want to get this under control the baby is almost 5 weeks and I think I am getting my period now. but then I wonder ok when will the next one come and why am i not cramping. etc..i feel not normal. also the hair growth is really makign me selfconcious anyone who has this sideeffect and has balc hair will know how i feel. it's aweful. I hate feeling abnormal
