Default I need some opinions - any leaders/co-leaders please

I am not sure if it's just me or not but this has been bugging me for a while.

I got a friend of mine to join my TOPS chapter back in October/November. Before joining she'd already lost over 100 pounds and at the time of joining she had about 40 more to lose or so. Well, PRD is coming in a few weeks and she wanted to be able to graduate so she made her goal weight and stuff. Well, the goal weight she chose is NOT her ultimate goal weight. She did make her goal weight so now she's a KOPS.

Well...She said she chose that weight just to graduate and that AFTER PRD she is changing it to her *real* goal weight. This just bugs me...I don't know why. I would like to my leader about it but really...is it just an immature thing? And please...I'm not jealous in any way about her success as I've been really successful too. I just don't think it's very fair. To me, it seems like a selfish reason to do that.

She looks really good too, so I am not even sure why she thinks she needs a smaller goal weight.

I'm not a leader or co-leader, but I agree that it sounds selfish However, I don't think there's anything you can do about it. Lots of people reach their goal weight and then get a new goal slip for a lower weight because they aren't happy yet--that is pretty normal. However, for her to purposely wait until after PRD to change it is just plain petty, IMO After all, once she changes her goal to a lower amount, she won't technically be a KOPS anymore anyway, right?

I know my current goal slip from my doctor has a goal of 150 on it. However, I have no recollection of ever weighing less than 200 except in childhood, so I have no idea if that will really be a good weight for me or not, so I may lower it once I get closer. I would NOT, however, wait until after I graduated to KOPS to change it just for the recognition

I totally agree...but for her to actually say "I'm picking this goal weight just to graduate" ....ya. It just bugs me. And ever since she joined TOPS with me, she's changed....she doesn't talk to me anymore hardly and she's almost turned into a bit of a....snob. I hate to say that about a friend, but it's just my feelings.

Have you thought about asking your leader what she thinks about someone doing that, without mentioning names? I'm not a leader BTW It does seem like a sneaky thing to do. I wouldn't like it if I knew of the situation.

I don't think there is a lot you can do about it though.

cheers, cj

CJ... Barb Hartley run the chat room on the Tops site and is there most evenings to chat with members. It might be a good way to find out proper protocol without asking the leader.... She is a very nice lady... Internet Ambassador for Tops... Its just a though.... Good luck with it... Barb

It sounds like what's really bugging you is that you think she's changed. Why do you care what she does? Let her be who she is and you be who you are, if you are the type of person that wouldn't do something like that than that's great, you have good values and are an honest person. Don't let what she's doing turn you into a rat, let it be and stop worrying so much about what other's are doing or not doing.

Just my two cents worth
