Goal weight is tough. 155 is the max BMI "norm" for my height, but my body fat is still kind of high, so once I got below/at the max "ok" for my height I decided more or less to base it on body fat percent (of course the pounds needed to be lost for a 10% lowering is just an estimation since not all fat could be lost), but also I would like to be in the middle of the road as you said. I have set a couple goals, when I have gotten to them, I end up wanting to lose a little more because I am not where I thought I would be when I got there, if that makes sense. I think that it doesn't defeat the purpose of maintenance since you goal would not be to maintain yet really. I think it's a wonderful goal to lose 100 pounds, and since that weight is in the standard norm for your hieght I think you should go for it (that is, if you want to of course).
