Welcome both.. hope you enjoy the forum and do check out the recipes for the Sonoma plan in the sub forum towards the top of the page.

Cherry, I don't know a thing about Sugar busters so I cannot help you there. The Med diet is just a way of eating, much like being a vegetarian is a way of eating. It is not a weight loss plan, but can be combined with a plan to lose weight.. for example I ate the Med way and counted calories. I could have just as easily eaten the Med way and done WW and counted the points. The point is that the Med diet , in order for it to be a weight loss plan requires a portion control mechanism of some sort.

The sonoma plan is the Med way of eating AND the portion control mechanism. That's all. No difference in the foods you eat between Med and Sonoma.. just that Sonoma has portion control.

Hello all,

I decided today was the day to sign up. I bought the book in January and started the plan February 25th. I love it! I've been reading these boards since the end of January and already feel like you ladies are great friends. Thanks for all of the great info and support that I have gotten from reading about your trials and achievements.

I am done with being pregnant, nursing and being fat and unhealthy. I am taking my body back and feeling great about it. I'm happy to be here.

Hi,

I am new to Sonoma and to this forum! I have been on Wave 1 for three days and love it. I have been feeling more energetic and the hunger and cravings are decreasing. My biggest problem is restricting coffee and diet sodas. I know I have to decrease my intake whether I am dieting or not, but it is so hard to give up sugar and caffeine at the same time! I could do decaf or lite, but the restriction on artificial sweetners is difficult! Guess I can't have it all!

Anyway, looking forward to sharing and providing support! Have a great day!

Wendy,
I gave up coffee just because I had it with french vanilla creamer and had about 3-4 cups per day. I switched to hot tea and I thought it was going to be really hard but it hasn't. Bigelow (I think that is how it is called) has a vanilla spiced chai tea that is sooo good. I don't miss the coffee any more. As far as the diet sodas I never stopped drinking it. I just have no more than 2 per day. The diet soda never made me crave sugar before the diet so I have not had a problem. Of course soda isn't great but I have been drinking more water also.

Thanx for the diet info :O) I think I'll go to a bookstore and search for the Med plan a.s.a.p. I'm tired of yo-yo dieting my weight up and down , I need to find a plan I could live my life on ...
