Angry Had a bad night...

Well like every other weekend..I struggled and did terrible tonight..
I was doing great until I picked my son and his friend up from golf at 6 pm. Friday is my son's fast food night so I picked up MacDonald's for my son, his friend and my dd. I planned on making myself something when I got home but my girlfriend showed up to pick up her son and as sweet as she is...she can Talk..and Talk ...and Talk...my dd did not eat her dinner. I was so famished I started to pick and pick and pick..while my friend was talking ....and ended up eating her dinner and some chocolates...
I fell like crying... I am so disapointed in myself) wasted calories on Food I don't even care for... I would have enjoyed a greek salad much more....
Lou
...I really have to stay focused because I seem to ruin my week of good eating every weekend.

Hang in there, Lou. We all do it. And we beat ourselves up for it. But eally, that is self defeating. Instead, accept that what's done is done, no one is perfect, and move on. Simply try again. Failure is not falling down. Failure is staying down. You just got too hungry. Try to keep on track eating every three hours. We make better food choices when we are not half starved!

Girl, that's when you say to your friend, "Honey, I'm going to be rude and eat in front of you. Want some salad?" She'll either take the hint and leave, or you'll get to have dinner with a friend. If she's a real friend she'll understand.

thanks Marcie,
I know it's done and I am over it...I was just SO mad!!!
I will do much better tomorrow!!!
I watched Dr.Phil this week and he said "not even God can change what is in the past but we can change what happens in the future!...so you are right..there is no use in beating myself up.
I was due to eat at 6 and I should have made myself a something while my friend was chatting. I have a difficult time going from snack #2 to dinner, I am always so hungry during that time.

Lou, you don't have to wait the full 3 hours. Try going 2 1/2. Also, having protein for your snack can help you stay full longer. You can do it!!

Most important: NEVER beat yourself up when you lapse. That is just a way for your inner fat girl to win - she loves that stuff... You made a mistake. SO WHAT. We all do. You are no different - you are allowed a mistake too - realize this - if any one of us were beating ourselves up iver a lapse injudgement you would porbably be saying - don't be so hard on yourself - blah blah blah - Well - why on EARTH would you think it is okay to beat yourself up? What = you set the bar higher for yourself because why? If it is okay for us to screw up it is okay for you too. Got it?

Also - anyone who knows me now knows that I eat at certain times. I stop everything and I eat. Don't like it? There's the door. I have yet to find anyone to harrass me about this practice. You must do what is right for you. Just tell people you need to eat at certain times in order to keep your blood sugar stable. Most people will not mess with that.

Stick up for you - even against yourself! Sometimes I have to give myself the "get over yourself" speech - I screw up too and sometimes I have to remind myself that that is gonna happen - NOT a bg deal. Just keep going.

Anyway - too many words here - kinda like word-vomit - sorry. I am prattling on for no reason. Ease up on yourself and just keep going. That is the whole point to this post. K? Luv ya!

Lou, another thing you might try if you are having problems going from snack #2 to dinner is veggies. I'm sitting here right now with a pile of baby carrots and cherry tomatoes because I'm in a snacking mood with PMS and your average person will not get fat eating baby carrots and tomatoes. It's the crunch and the squish that's making it work for me.

A few extra veggies a day are good for you and there aren't enough calories in them to make a difference.

Good luck. You are so very close to your goal that those last pounds are going to be the hardest to lose. I would suggest upping the veggies and making sure you are getting exercise almost every day of the week and you'll see it speed up.

The 100 calorie snack packs are not working for you most likley because they are carb snacks. Switch to a protein snack for better results.

I am not eating the snack packs, they seem to small for me to bother with them. .I usually have a string cheese 60 cals and 1/2 of fruit or I have cottage cheese..but I am starving by the time lunch or dinner rolls around...Lou

Try 100 calories of tuna! The Kashi granola bars are also very filling and a LOT of fiber. You will have difficulty finishing your dinner!

I find them by the regular granola bars or in the cereal aisle. Sam's Club had them for a while but I haven't seen them lately. They also help you drink your water.

Oh, man. BEWARE of Blue Bunny Carb Smart ice cream treats! Sugar alcohols are vicious, vicious little monsters! I may have lost weight but I'm concerned I also lost intestines!!! My tummy still hurts...

Oh Lafayette -- been there, done that with sugar free jelly beans -- it was a really miserable night.

Lou, one of my favorite snacks is to take 1/2 an apple and some cheddar cheese and get the cheese really warm and spread it on the apple. Peanut butter with an apple will help too.

Tuna is cat food -- meow! Don't believe me? Open a can at my house and see who comes running first!
