Just dropped in real quick to read up on how everyone is doing. My eating program is going pretty well. I have lost at least another half pound, maybe more. Water intake is better, but 100+ oz is an awful lot. I usually get close to 90, maybe a little more.
I have been so busy that exercise has been a minimum, but I haven't sat that much either. Going up and down ladders painting walls and crown molding. Hopefully that counts as something...sure makes you sweat.
Anyways, we are in and out of the house all weekend, BUT my goal today is to get this kitchen renovation at a "holding pattern" stage until we are ready for phase II (new cabinet and tiled counter and floor). Then start to put my house back in order. Right now the dining room table is in middle of living room with all the kitchen counter and wall stuff on it...been like that since mid Dec. We didn't even decorate or put a tree up for Christmas. Tomorrow I am going to give the house a good cleaning/vacuuming before we need to head out.
Next week will be a good time get back into routine for exercise. I have a hard time exercising or doing crafty things when my house is in chaos. It drives me crazy...because I can see the mess, but do nothing about it.
I will be back on Monday. I am not even going to attempt to get on the forum over the weekend. Too much to do. AND I have pulled out the "pedometer" (still, in the wrapper). Ladies, I am sure my husband thanks you. He keeps asking if I've used it. I keep avoiding the answer.
Yesterday at our mom's group we had an "affordable fashion show". Fashion finds at the thrift stores. Of course the ladies doing it were probably size 5 & 7. BUT they had some mighty nice clothes for $3-5 a piece. I have been been a 5'7" size 9/10 since I was about 11. I weighed about 150, which I did maintain until about 2 years into my marriage. Unfortunately, I maintained my weight the wrong way in high school - skipping breakfast and lunch, large suppers and 2 hours of aerobics a day. I married a man who was used to eating 3 meals a day. Once I working and going to college (later had children), I could no longer keep up that much exercise. But I was eating more calories, so I started putting on the weight. I think my metabolism is terrible because of those habits. I have never really been able to break the skipping meal habit. You overeat at one meal...so you skip two or three. I always seem to revert. It really is a habit of "binge eating/fasting". I think I revert because it seems so successful for others. BUT it doesn't work for me AND I know that. You know I always thought I was fat as a teenager. I know better now. I'll tell you, that 9/10 sure looks good right now. Because it is hard to find clothes in the store, never the less a thrift store for larger sizes.
I have three of JC's exercise books. I have the belly one, 8Min in morning, and the thigh one. I copied the week one exercises from all three books and made a Mon-Sat package for each day. So, next week my goal is to have a 24 min work out each day. The 8min seem to be weight bearing - all over toning. I switched a few days around, so despite using the 3 books I am never working really repeating a muscle group. I like the belly and thigh book. Some days the exercises are exactly the same. I am going to use week 1 for 3-4 weeks increasing weights as necessary, then I will make a week 2 pattern set. So, next week my goal is 24 min of 8MMoves. Then a minimum of 3 days of aerobics. I started this once before early last fall. I did it for about 3 weeks. I was enjoying it and noticed results. BUT gave up when life got busy around here on our renovation project.
Anyone watching the superbowl? I cannot stand to even watch football. BUT our youth group is having a superbowl party, so we are taking our children. We have to stay since I teach 8th grade girls and my husband teaches the 7th grade boys.. Hopefully, I will find some ladies (or girls) who would rather chat than watch. I will sneak in a few board games for us to play.
I think I am going to take a veggie tray and a sugar free low carb cheese cake recipe (a protein option) for me. I got the recipe from the Low Carb show on TLC. I took it to church before. Everyone raved about it. I did add a very thin graham cracker crust on the bottom only. No one could tell it was low sugar or low carb. I don't need any topping on mine. But will take some fresh strawberries with a little sugar in a bowl and a bottle of chocolate syrup for those who want topping. I will also take some homemade salsa with some regular and baked chips.
Sunday my 14 yo daughter and I are beginning a 4 week Wilton cake decorating class at Michael's. She is using this as part of her class credit for Culinary Arts. We have been decorating cakes at home for about 3 weeks now. Luckily....I like rich things like cheesecake more than sugary sweets...it really isn't that tempting, believe it or not!
So, I will be back on Monday....ready to walk those steps, and watch those goals. BUT never fear, I do intend to stay with the program this weekend. AND we are NOT having any sandwiches....we are going to eat healthy.
P.S.

I couldn't sign off for the weekend without saying this.
This is the most supportive forum I've found so far. I want to thank all of you for making newcomers feel right at home. On other ones...I've kind of felt out of place as the newbie...since everyone already seems to have "bonds".
BUT I also want to say thank you for keeping the forum supportive of everyone's individuality, while keeping to focus "weight loss". It is really easy to get side tracked....and get the focus off of why we are here. I am really looking forward to keeping company with all of you. I look forward to enjoying and supporting each other as we strive for our weight loss goals.
AGAIN,....THANKS TO ALL!!!
Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend.
