Default Farther for Friday!!

Ok ladies, lets get those steps going!! Everything we do today lets aim to go FARTHER!!! Park your car farther away from the store or from work and walk farther, get some extra steps in! Take the stairs instead of the elevator so you can walk father and get more steps in!!! Drink all your water but push yourself farther and drink an extra 8 ounces!! Push yourself further on the tread mill and alittle farther!!! Come on ladies we can do it!!!

So what's up for everyone today??? I have to work from 1-6 today and I am suppose to go out to dinner with some friends tonight but I dont' know if I am going or not. I have eaten out way too much this week and gotta stop doing that. I am so dreading WI! UGH UGH !! Yesterday was Steven's last day of baseball tryouts so we should find out Sunday or Monday if he made the team or not!!! Anyone have any special plans this weekend??? Sunday is my moms' birthday so Keilyn and I are going to make her a cake and I am going to let Keilyn decorate it all by her self! Then we are taking her to dinner. I have lots of stuff to do around the house on Saturday and after today the weather is REALLY suppose to turn cold after hitting 67 today! No wonder we are all sick.

Hope everyone has an awsome weekend!

Well, it is my turn to stay home with a sick child. He was up half the night. I had Tylenol melt aways but he ended up throwing them up...I don't know what it is with my kids but if they have it in their minds they don't like it then they throw up. So at 5am I was at Walgreens getting some children's advil pills. He is doing much better with that in his system. So this will be a day to try to catch up with some cleaning...we will see...Hope everyone has a great day!

Sorry to hear about your kids being sick! I know how it feels having 2 young girls myself. When my oldest daughter (6 years old) was sick and throwing up all the time, the nurse had told me that even though she throws up after taking her Tylenol or Advil, her body still kept a bit in her stomack. I don't know if that can be true but all we could possibly do is wait for the vomitting to stop. The important thing was to give her water every 5 minutes so she wouldn't dehydrate herself.

As for me, we have a birthday party to go to tommorow at some friends, so this will be fun for the kids. It will be nice to be with friends and talk.

Well - I must go to the grocery store today... Sunday we are having a mini-party for my mom. Her birthday was yesterday. I do everyone a favor though and BUY her a cake. Better for everyone, LOL...

Other than that it seems that we are finally heading toward a hot-tub purchase! YAY! We may go looking at the three we have narrowed it down to on Saturday plus I still need to find something for my mother for her birthday... any ideas? I am thinking maybe a gift card for a book store or something. I know that sounds lame, but she is SO hard to buy for. I don't know - I don't usually like to cop out like that, but... we'll see...

Have a great day ladies...

OH! I almost forgot. I joined a diet site called Anne COllins - she has a lot of recipes for meals between 150-400 calories. I need all the help I can get. As I eat them and like them, I shall post them! Her diet plans seem to be very solid - she has something for everyone... even vegetarians, folks with blood pressure issues, diverticulitis, PCOS, diabetes - good stuff. I THINK she is from Englad but I am not 100% sure about that. Let me be clear - I am still following JC plan - I joined for the recipes...

ANyway - have a wonderful day!

Ugh... just lost my message. I love the maid idea! I always get my mom cute little purses with a scarf or pin that matches. I figure she hauled around the a diaper bag or huge purse carrying stuff for me for most of my childhood. I always look for something that will hold her wallet, cigarettes and maybe a lipstick!

I worked out for a solid hour and a half last night! One full hour of free weights in this new class I tried at Bally called PowerFlex- whew! Followed up with 30 solid minutes of crunches in the "Rock Hard Abs" class. It felt so good to know that I didn't have far to go to keep up with the weights. I actually kept up with the abs class, too! Great tip from my trainer, Satan: Inhale as you go down and exhale as you come up- it really works to help you move better!

Hey, funny co-inky dink - my Mom's Bday is tomorrow! We are going to have pizza at my brothers house to celebrate. That could be a big disaster! But I will make sure they order me a salad I can fill up on before getting into the pizza - I LOVE pizza! I just returned from buying my mom's gift. I bought her a warm-up suit on sale at Kohl's. I hate the clothes she picks out for herself, so I like to buy her an outfit for her Bday!

It is POURING rain here this morning. I have been out and about a bunch already. Next up is a dentist appointment and then to school for grandparents and special friends day. None of the grandparents could make it today, so I will go in and play board games with Bobby. Then it is off to pick up Robert from work, on to therapy. Michelle has dance tonight, plus a kareoke night at school. So basically I will be on the go till about 10 pm tonight. Yuck! Water will be difficult to get in, but I will do my best to try and get at least 75 oz in. Food? Well, that will be tough too, but I am gonna at least try to keep it low cal, even if I miss a meal or snack.

Hey, for all of you who are parents of teenagers, Dateline on NBC tonight has a show about internet predators. I HIGHLY recommend you watch this or tape it. Make your teen watch it also! It is very scary, but something we all need to be more aware of. This is the 3rd time they are highlighting this and it is a real eye opener!

Thumbs up

Just dropped in real quick to read up on how everyone is doing. My eating program is going pretty well. I have lost at least another half pound, maybe more. Water intake is better, but 100+ oz is an awful lot. I usually get close to 90, maybe a little more.

I have been so busy that exercise has been a minimum, but I haven't sat that much either. Going up and down ladders painting walls and crown molding. Hopefully that counts as something...sure makes you sweat.

Anyways, we are in and out of the house all weekend, BUT my goal today is to get this kitchen renovation at a "holding pattern" stage until we are ready for phase II (new cabinet and tiled counter and floor). Then start to put my house back in order. Right now the dining room table is in middle of living room with all the kitchen counter and wall stuff on it...been like that since mid Dec. We didn't even decorate or put a tree up for Christmas. Tomorrow I am going to give the house a good cleaning/vacuuming before we need to head out.

Next week will be a good time get back into routine for exercise. I have a hard time exercising or doing crafty things when my house is in chaos. It drives me crazy...because I can see the mess, but do nothing about it.

I will be back on Monday. I am not even going to attempt to get on the forum over the weekend. Too much to do. AND I have pulled out the "pedometer" (still, in the wrapper). Ladies, I am sure my husband thanks you. He keeps asking if I've used it. I keep avoiding the answer.

Yesterday at our mom's group we had an "affordable fashion show". Fashion finds at the thrift stores. Of course the ladies doing it were probably size 5 & 7. BUT they had some mighty nice clothes for $3-5 a piece. I have been been a 5'7" size 9/10 since I was about 11. I weighed about 150, which I did maintain until about 2 years into my marriage. Unfortunately, I maintained my weight the wrong way in high school - skipping breakfast and lunch, large suppers and 2 hours of aerobics a day. I married a man who was used to eating 3 meals a day. Once I working and going to college (later had children), I could no longer keep up that much exercise. But I was eating more calories, so I started putting on the weight. I think my metabolism is terrible because of those habits. I have never really been able to break the skipping meal habit. You overeat at one meal...so you skip two or three. I always seem to revert. It really is a habit of "binge eating/fasting". I think I revert because it seems so successful for others. BUT it doesn't work for me AND I know that. You know I always thought I was fat as a teenager. I know better now. I'll tell you, that 9/10 sure looks good right now. Because it is hard to find clothes in the store, never the less a thrift store for larger sizes.

I have three of JC's exercise books. I have the belly one, 8Min in morning, and the thigh one. I copied the week one exercises from all three books and made a Mon-Sat package for each day. So, next week my goal is to have a 24 min work out each day. The 8min seem to be weight bearing - all over toning. I switched a few days around, so despite using the 3 books I am never working really repeating a muscle group. I like the belly and thigh book. Some days the exercises are exactly the same. I am going to use week 1 for 3-4 weeks increasing weights as necessary, then I will make a week 2 pattern set. So, next week my goal is 24 min of 8MMoves. Then a minimum of 3 days of aerobics. I started this once before early last fall. I did it for about 3 weeks. I was enjoying it and noticed results. BUT gave up when life got busy around here on our renovation project.

Anyone watching the superbowl? I cannot stand to even watch football. BUT our youth group is having a superbowl party, so we are taking our children. We have to stay since I teach 8th grade girls and my husband teaches the 7th grade boys.. Hopefully, I will find some ladies (or girls) who would rather chat than watch. I will sneak in a few board games for us to play.

I think I am going to take a veggie tray and a sugar free low carb cheese cake recipe (a protein option) for me. I got the recipe from the Low Carb show on TLC. I took it to church before. Everyone raved about it. I did add a very thin graham cracker crust on the bottom only. No one could tell it was low sugar or low carb. I don't need any topping on mine. But will take some fresh strawberries with a little sugar in a bowl and a bottle of chocolate syrup for those who want topping. I will also take some homemade salsa with some regular and baked chips.

Sunday my 14 yo daughter and I are beginning a 4 week Wilton cake decorating class at Michael's. She is using this as part of her class credit for Culinary Arts. We have been decorating cakes at home for about 3 weeks now. Luckily....I like rich things like cheesecake more than sugary sweets...it really isn't that tempting, believe it or not!

So, I will be back on Monday....ready to walk those steps, and watch those goals. BUT never fear, I do intend to stay with the program this weekend. AND we are NOT having any sandwiches....we are going to eat healthy.

P.S. I couldn't sign off for the weekend without saying this. This is the most supportive forum I've found so far. I want to thank all of you for making newcomers feel right at home. On other ones...I've kind of felt out of place as the newbie...since everyone already seems to have "bonds".

BUT I also want to say thank you for keeping the forum supportive of everyone's individuality, while keeping to focus "weight loss". It is really easy to get side tracked....and get the focus off of why we are here. I am really looking forward to keeping company with all of you. I look forward to enjoying and supporting each other as we strive for our weight loss goals.

AGAIN,....THANKS TO ALL!!!

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend.

Well, it's FRIDAY! No real plans for the weekend. It is beautiful here today 65 and sunny! UNBELIEVABLE I hope to get out for a walk this afternoon. It is supposed to get cold and rainy over the weekend...which is always a joy with small kids! LOL! I worked a long day yesterday but got all my water in and despite no pedometer yet I swear I had to have walked close to 10000 steps...I maybe sat still for a total of 3 hours in a 14 hour day! YUK! For those of you who don't know my MIL is recovering from a HUGE surgery and my FIL is dying of cancer...so today was my day to go over and wash the bed linens, do the laundry, vacuum and dust! Now if i could only do my own house! LOL! At least theirs looks good! I have been at a stand still with weight loss the last few weeks, so my goal for the weigh in is STS and lose at least 1.5 this coming week! Have a great day!

Good afternoon everyone!

I'm sitting here at work bored because my entire department is gone. I have a large container of sugar-free orange Jell-O and it's yummy. And no fat and no carbs.

We actually have absolutely nothing planned for tomorrow. I'm getting my nails done (I wear acrylics) and getting a pedicure. Sunday, our married couples class at church is having a Super Bowl party at one of the couple's homes. Sorry Donna, but I do like football. What other sport can you watch that's full of tight ends??? (for those of you who don't know anything about the sport, tight end is a position on the team).

Donna, will you come to Colorado and tile my bathroom floor and kitchen counters? I'm not having any luck finding anyone to do it. Everyone is too expensive for what I want to pay. It's not worth $1,000 to do 50 square feet!

Lafayette, is your trainer's name really Satan? Or are you just calling him that because he makes you work hard?

It is pouring rain here in my usually sunny Florida....but we need it badly.

We are having a few people over for Super Bowl....I am a Steelers fan!!!

Go Steelers!!!!!

I am using every ingredient that is low fat, no sugar that I can in all the food I am making and I am will not drink any liquor so that will save some calories. Will have a veggie tray so I can munch on that with my Ice Tea.

Need to get a couple decorations tomorrow for the get-together and clean my house and wait til game time Sunday....
