Default Lurking

I just got the 3hr diet book, been lurking through your posts today, for inspiration and am wondering - does this diet really work? I'm a WW member right now but am finding that really hard to stick to. and it could be that I'm just not motivated at this point.
Thanks!
Dawn - New to the diet.

Yes Dawn, it really does work! It helps with portion control and its rather similar to WW. I have even tried a few days to combine WW and the 3hr diet and see the similarities and what nots. They are really alike except that instead of a point system you break it down more with proteins, carbs, fat, veggies and fruit and the timing technique, which I have really noticed for me getting on the timing has really cut down on my inbetween meal snacking here and there, it really helps! We would love tohave you join the group, come post with us and we are here if you have any questions, comments and or concerns. We love to have new members join us!!

Come on in, the water's fine! The diet works. It is easy to follow, and the support is phenomenal.

Funny you mentioned that about WW points, I have my day all planned out with what to eat following the book (3hr diet) and then I put all that in my WW tracker and it was 29pts, vs 24 pts which is where I would be. I am awful with my inbetween meal snacking.

So I followed breakfast - perfect
snack - 100 pt low fat granola bar

lunch isn't until 2 and it's 400cals and fits the program.

However, I"m hungry right now. Is it just getting used to or did I not eat enough breakfast? Egg sandwich. I'm drinking my water too.

I have to eat an hour earlier I think, I can't have dinner at 8pm. I'm up until 11 though so that would be 3 hrs before bed that I would be done but my kids would starve so they'd have to eat earlier or can I swap my 5pm snack to have dinner or is that too close to the 2pm lunch? ( Sorry, couldn't find that answer in his book).

Thanks for the welcome!
Dawn

You can swap your snack, or combine snack with dinner. Whatever you need to do to eat every three hours, and have the calories even out.

Dawn,

I have personally done every diet known to man. I have even taken diet pills. YUK!! This has been the only diet that I can do, with a family envolved, and lose weight. This is something that will not come off fast, but it will be steady. I have been on it faithfully for about 2 1/2 weeks and I have lost 4 lbs so far. Just read the book and trust the new way of eating. Give it some time and you will see results. Also remember that some diets aren't for everyone. Hope that you join us. Good Luck!!

Dawn - if you find yourself getting hungry in between, avoid a carb loaded snack and try a protein snack. (I am starting to sound like a broken record, right ladies?!) Sometimes your body will make too much insulin in response to carbs all by themselves (this is what happens to me) and then within an hour and a half or two hours, your blood sugar will plummet and WHAM you will be wicked hungry.

Just my humble suggestion...

And yeah - this diet works - mostly because it is not "really" a diet - it just presents some very common sense principals in a neat and organized way... Eating every three hours will keep your metabolism steady right along with your blood sugar level...

Welcome Dawn!

I've also done every diet known to man and this one does work. I do the 3 hour eating in conjunction with counting calories for right now. I use an on-line tracker that counts them for me so I don't have to do it.

I agree with Daisy -- I'm allergic to most every carb out there, so I have protein snacks -- usually combined with fruit -- like an apple and peanut butter or grapes and string cheese or 12 almonds or pistachios or rice cakes and peanut butter. I also like a slice of turkey or hamd smeared with a teaspoon of light cream cheese rolled up and sliced into bites. Protein snacks will keep you full longer.

Also make sure if you need 200 or 300 calorie snacks that you eat that much.
