While I was sitting in the hospital, I read this month's issue of Prevention magazine. One of the articles was about - what makes each of us happy. Thought it might be interesting to find out -
Aside from losing weight and eating/drinking, what are 5 things that make you happy?
Lots of wonderful things make me happy but I learned the biggest lesson about happiness from my 3 year old son, He was very bothered about a small verbal fight between him and his big brother, he came to me and said i'm sad can I sit in your lap? of course I picked him up and held him he talked about what happened then looked at me and said can I get down now? Of course and I put him down he then looked at me and stated matter of factly I'm okay I want to be happy now. It hit me right then happiness really is as simple as a state of mind. I want to be happy so I will be. Out of the mouth of babes!
Truly the best teachers since we never realize what they are teaching us until after the lesson has been learned. No way to fight that kind of teaching no matter how much one hates to learn something new.
1. My neighborhood- I have a neighbor who walks his pet jackrabbit. I don't care how bad your day is. This LOOKS FUNNY! I feel for the rabbit.

When my 3 yr old can make it through an hour without a temper tantrum
When my 14 year old can make it through a day without getting in trouble at school for doing stupid stuff.
Jackrabbits have really long droopy ears and gigantic, skinny hind legs. The rabbit kind of hops along very cautiously. I don't think his owner realizes that they can jump very fast and very long distances. If the poor thing actually jumped its range, the leash would probably strangle it or he would pull the poor guy down. His owner is a very sweet, elderly man who suffers from just enough dementia to be interesting but not so much that he's incapable of independent living. I'm pretty sure his "pet" is not allowed in the city of Milwaukee. It would break my heart if they took it away from him- I think it's the only thing keeping him active and with the rest of us. The whole neighborhood kind of keeps an eye out for him and his rabbit. And it is really funny to watch!
The rest of my neighbors are an interesting mix of artists and professionals. I fit "squarely" into the wears-a-suit-to-work category. Every day is like a halloween party you weren't invited to at my local coffee shop.
I also live by a really great paved bike/walking trail, Lake Michigan, and every restaurant in the city delivers to me!
