I went to sleep at a more or less reasonable hour last night (despite sleeping nearly all day - I hate being sick!). However, DH woke me up when he finally made it to bed, and I can't get back to sleep! Arrgh! At least I'm feeling a bit better.
I've been slacking off lately on the plan, so I'm going to straighten up and behave myself (at least for a while! ) like a good little mommy-Bean! That means trying to get even just a wee bit of activity in each day, whether it's going for a walk or having some kind of a romp with DS or even just vacuuming the rug or cleaning the bathroom - with these online classes, I'm muuuuuch too prone to sitting on my hindend all day. I need to stop being such a lazy bum! I guess I just got into the habit of sitting around a lot first while I was miserably pg with DS, and then later recovering from the c-section. I'm too short for our sofa, so it was excrutiatingly painful to get up and down from it while I was healing from the surgery. By the time I'd healed, the habit was well established. Not that I've ever been all that active, anyway - I'm the bookish sort.
So there's my New Day's resolution: get up off my hiney and move around a bit!
On a somewhat related note, I've settled on a theme for DS's bday party: The Wiggles! He loves them, and I love that they encourage kids to get up and move around rather than sitting catatonic in front of the television! I'll push the coffee table out of the way, put on one of their cd's, and let the kids dance around - that's as much of an activity as a bunch of toddlers and preschoolers need!
Just a quickie fly-by for me this morning-- busy day ahead, and I have to leave in a few minutes so I can fit my workout into the schedule. The scale is my friend today - I'm down another 1 1/2 lbs, WOOHOO!!!! Today is Day 10 on Phase 1, and I have my breakfast and lunch prepared to take with me.
Be good today, and I'll try to check in with you all later!
The Wiggles! My grand daughter just loved them but is now into My Little Pony. Sounds like a good party theme for your DS's party.
Well, chickies, I actually slept until 6 this morning! Yesterday was a pretty busy day, as most of mine are, but I also chatted with friend who called until 9:30 so that may have helped. When I get my Girls back tomorrow, I'll get back into a proper routine. I think I'm sleep deprived.
The workmen have chipped out all the mouldy mortar now and are starting to re-fill the cracks but they will be here at least until the end of the week. Then I have to start sorting and moving junk back into place down there. There will be a ton of items ready for the spring yard sale at the Church!
Today I take friend Kevin to the hospital for the same knee operation I had. That should take up most of the afternoon and evening. He's scheduled for 3 PM so I'll be at loose ends for a while. I'll go visit Mr Crabby (DH) while I'm in Perth and maybe poke around the shops. We are expecting rain this afternoon so I may just sit and read in the hospital waiting room.
Morning H-ko and Cottage and the rest of you chicks to come. I have a few minutes before I need to get off to work so I finally have a a moment to pop in again, trying to get in when I can since Ruthie was so kinda as to wash and fluff my towel. This working thing is a little crazy for me, I love it, but I don't have time like I did when I was working at home.
H-KO- glad that you are feeling better, and I love the wiggles, I just to put them on for the kids when I babysat they just can't help but dance when they hear them. Hope the party is fun.
Cottage- congrats on the lose, we through out our scales about 2 mos ago I have not replace them yet.
Me- I am not totally back on the beach but making the decision to eat healthy each day. I really need a good grocrey order so I can totally be back on track, but that is something else I never seem to have time form
Well chicks have a fab day I only work til 7:30 tonight so maybe I can get myself back in here tonight. Hope you all have a great day.
Morning Ruthie we were posting at the same time. We are getting rain here today. Hope you have a great book to read. Drive safely and hope Kevin makes out fine
Good Morning. A big thanks to Schatzi, H-KO, Stephie and the other ladies for the words of encouragment yesterday. I've always been a bit of a scale junkie. I have weighed myself every day for as long as I can remember. I couldn't keep away from it today either. Still stalled at the same weight. Oh Well, going to try and not let it get to me. Maybe it will drop 3 pounds tomorrow - HAHAHA.
Anyway, another day at work and another piaono lesson for my son tonight and home again. Monday through Wednesday is always a busy time round here. At least on Thursday and Friday evenings I usually get to come home after work
Stephie, you really gave me a boost when I read yesterday's thread (read that at 4:30 am before the workout LOL). Thanks for that!!!
A hope everyone has a great day at the beach today. See you all in the morning.
It's wet and yucky here in Atlanta, today. Looks like we're starting our usual Winter Weather.
Really not much going on around here. I'm missing a shoe that I want to try with my plum colored dress for the cruise. Even if I find it, I may not like the way it looks on, so I may have to go out and find yet another pair. (winces)
Gonna have a bowl of oats for breakfast again this morning. But I think I'll try cooking them stovetop instead of in the micro. They've been too slimy and I like my oats with more muscle to them. KWIM?
Mornin chicks! Can I crawl on my beach towel and sleep? Preferably with a cabana boy fanning me????
TOM makes me so sleepy. Doesn't help that DS gets my PMS. Ladies, I am not kidding. He's an attitude so fast. And every month I forget that he gets that way.
Today is just my SS(stupid strategies class. No english class but I an bound and determined to catch-up on that class today. And 'study' for my math quiz for tomm.
I had to runaway from home yest when I was doing my homework. DS I can deal with. But at the last minute my sis called and kirby said she could drop 2 of the hurricanes(dear nieces...see my post from yest)off. They were playing but so loud that I couldn't concentrate. I read the paragraph 10 TIMES! I got my stuff, let kirby know I couldnt do it, and hauled boogie to a coffeeshop in a mall 5 min away. I managed to finish my reading assignment for SS. Whew. I hate that I had to leave to get peace though.
H-ko-My son would love that party. I sing the songs sometimes and he asks me not to. I can't help it. lol
cottage-
Ruth-you amaze me. You are always on the go.
freaky-glad your job is working out for you.
Mamacita-Do you think it's possible to keep the rain there? Not looking forward to going to class or grocery store in the rain....
No time to read post.........need a lap top...............on my way back to hospital, that baby WILL be born today, Please God
I will check back tonight love Cathy
P1 What is that?
Mornin, chicks! Yesterday was the first day back to school for me. It also marked the first day of the last semester of classes...ever!! Yaaay! I think I'll like both classes. My Ecosystems class seems to be a review of everything I already know so you'd think it would be easier but it just so happens to be my graduate advisor teaching the course which automatically means triple the expectations out of me. But she's good and is one of the early female pioneers (well pioneers period, male or female now that I think about it) in the field of urban ecology so it really is an excellent opportunity to be studing under her.
My Environmetal Policy class looks like it should be fun if I can keep myself from strangling most of the people there. I'm the only one currently working in science in the class. In fact, there's only one other person with a distant science background in there. With people like that working to define our environmetal policies it's no wonder things are how they are. These are people who have been working in the field for years or are going into public administration with graduate degrees yet the ignorance on basic scientific facts I saw last night was astounding. 3 hours of frustrating debate until I finally just shut up and waited for class to be over. If there's no problems with our environment and all the science telling us there is BS then what the heck are we sitting in this class for?? Geesh! Good thing it's only once a week or else I'd go nuts.
H-ko: You and I have the same resolution. Let's make this the year of moving our butts.
Cottage: WooHoo on the fat-o-meter comin' down! Soo happy for ya!
Ruth: Reading on a rainy day is wonderful. I love it. Maybe one day I'll be able to read something besides a text book or science related something or other....hey, I can dream. Take care of yourself driving in all that.
Littlechick: Want some of my groceries ?? I spent 200 at the grocery store stocking up. The problem is I bought all these canned goods that it turns out I already have...and have no room to store them all. Smart, huh!?!
Freaky: Don't worry about the scale. Water weight is a tricky thing. It'll come off eventually. Just stay OP and you'll see results.
Mamacita: Try to stay warm and dry today. Have some oats for me, would ya? I love oatmeal but am on P1 for the next couple weeks. I can almost smell them now.........
Wendy: What a day! Can't wait till I have kids, . Love the avatar, it's beautiful.
Taz: P1 is phase one. Have a great day!!
Everyone else: Have a great day, stay on the beach. No rollin' off the sand, k?
