Default New Year, new me.... I hope

Hello all! I'm hoping to get some (a lot) weight off this year and thought this would be a good way to get some support. I don't really have anyone around me to help or do this with so I hoping this will help. This web site looks like a great place to be. Hope I can be of some help to others as well.

Default New Year, new me...

Hi Yvonne,

I need to lose 167 pds. A whole other person. It has to work this time. My mom went the surgery route and I don't want to have to resort to that but I'm starting to get old and running out of options.

Well, hopefully together we can Git R' done!

Right now my goal is 89 pounds.I'm sure I'll have to lose more than that but, I'm trying to take small steps. Like my goal for January is 8-10 lbs. and by April I have a goal of 30 lbs, The small steps seem to work for me because I don't feel pressured. If you like the idea of setting mini goals like that, you could take a look at the april 1st group in the support forum. They are a really great group.
I don't blame you at all for not wanting to resort to surgery. I wouldn't want to go under the knife either.
What are you doing to lose weight?I always like to ask to get some ideas for myself.

I'm am doing a low carb eating. I've found that I am extremely carb sensitive. Plus I hate veggies so it's easier to do. But, I really love carbs so that makes it a little harder. Also, I can't cook and that doesn't help at all.

Anyway, I'm also going to work out at lunch time at my church and do some weight training at home. If I can find the directions to set up my bowflex like gym.

What do you do?

Right now I just try to keep my calorie intake under 1200 per day.
I have mini goals set for the week - Like I have to drink 64 oz. of water everyday, I have to work out for at least 45 min. at least 5 days (mostly on my elliptical machine at home) and I can't skip any meals. I was to often skipping breakfast & lunch then eating a large dinner. So now I eat every three hours to keep my metabolism up.
At the end of the week if I met all my goals I reward myself with something small like buying a movie I wanted or etc.
