Default confused by new cookbook. help?

I make the protein packed cheesecakes as a phase one breakfast alternative. There is a very similar recipie in the new quick and easy cookbook for them, but it includes cocoa. They list this as a phase 3 treat. Why? I don't get it. I understand that it would count as a sweet treat, but why listed as phase three? Am I missing something?

Don't worry. I was confused too. It's a problem with the editing. As long as you have P1 ingredients it's a P1 recipe no matter what the book says. Enjoy!

There is another error in the book too. I don't have mine with me at work but I think it is a meal that has apples but is marked phase 1. Just check the ingredients. I think on some of the phase 3 items it is the amount of the cream cheese that is why they make it phase 3. As long as you keep to the right serving size with the protein packed cheesecake you will be fine.

Grrr! I hate it when they do that. It kind of ruins credibility!

Sure can, Ruth, since I'm WFH today. THe Red Leaf, Avocado, and Apple Salad is on page 131. It is listed as phase 1 but contains 1/2 of an apple so I have marked mine as phase 2.

THe other one would be Mini Cocoa Swirl Cheesecakes on page 298. It is listed as phase 3 but contains only 6oz RF cream cheese, half cup part skim ricotta, 2 TBSP sugar substitute, one egg, one egg yolk, vanilla and 1 1/2 tsp unsweeted cocoa. Looks phase 2 to me. It has 130 calories and makes 6 servings.

I also question why Nutty Brownies (page 304) and Rice Pudding (pg 308) as well as Orange Poppy Seed Cupcakes (pg 314), Spiced Chocolate Nut Clusters (pg 318) and Lemon Olive Oil Cake (pg 322) are phase 3. In some cases it might be the amount of nuts or WW flour but it sure looks to me like the ingredients are okay.

I'm sure after I spend some time in the Beach mind-set, I'll *know* what is acceptable and what is not. However, I've ordered the cookbook and I'd like to know about last five recipes mentioned--I'd hate to sabatage my work by eating something that was no okay *at that time*.

Thanks, Barb. When I get a bit of spare time, I'm going to check them out and may write South Beach a "Don't Do That, You Idiot!" letter.
