Exclamation Somebody Stop Me!

My eating has gotten so out of control in the last 3 or 4 days. Is is the sudden change in weather? We spent a week in southern California and coming back here to cold, gray Indiana was really hard! Also adjusting ourselves & our 2 year old to the time changes and catching up on sleep has been hard. I just keep eating terrible foods! McChicken sandwiches, chocolate cupcakes, pizza... And I don't feel like cooking. I'm frightened to get weighed! I've done pretty good, as of last week (26 weeks) I was up 4 pounds from my prepregnancy weight, so it's not like I'm way out of control. I just worry about this sudden turn. I need to get back on track. Remind me why I need to eat well!!!!

A healthy mama makes for a healthy baby, and if you feel like crap now it's only going to be worse during labor. Eat good stuff first, and make sure you really, really want anything else you eat.

thanks sabra! I had all these great intentions for breakfast this morning. then my mom shows up with a "surprise" breakfast from McDonald's... ugh. It seriously did not even sound good but I ate some of it, to be polite. She never shows up with fresh fruit or whole-wheat bagels!

Now, for the rest of today and all of tomorrow, I'm left to my own devices... Friday night is DH's work Christmas get-together, but even then I think they have a salad bar at this restaurant so hopefully I can load up on healthy stuff. Actually eating with a large group of people is better, because I feel like people are watching what I eat since I'm pregnant. I don't know if it's true or not, that they watch me, but it's good motivation for me to put on a good show.

Maybe you can use that same reasoning to help you eat better for the most important person there is...your little baby who is not only watching you at all times, but whose very cells are being created out of what you eat What could be more important than that? You are really on the right track! Try asking your mom to help you...request that she bring you healthy suprises like fresh fruit, yogurt and whole grain breads You can do this!

Another thing--and I unfortunately know this from experience--the more you let your eating go now, the worse it's going to be to get back on the wagon once the baby is born.
