ok i'm back lol

it was 30 degrees here this morning.

Really nice cold weather for Louisiana and it's suppose to be cold all week

I had a blow out on my back tire on the way home yesterday and the Lord kept me safe and sound. Then 2 nice fellows stopped to try to change my tire for me but my dh was already on the way. The last fellow insisted that he at least get it started and had the spare on and ready to go just as dh drove up. It is always a blessing when total strangers go out of their way to help and make sure that you are ok. He was nice and said he would want somebody to do the same for his wife.

So, the only bad news is, that it was a brand new tire - I had gotten all new tires a few weeks ago, and didn't get "road hazard" on them, which we really should have with all the debris and mess still on our streets from the storm. And, unfortunately, I ruined the tire (didn't even know I ran over something) and dh is having a brand new tire put on the wheel this morning. But hey - it's only money.

Bearcat - wooohooo a month's vacation! what a great time of the year to have a month off! enjoy! was your 4 year old in the program at church last night? or was he just really well behaved? were you able to get in your workout this morning? I have got to get back to my morning walking ASAP. I can feel the muscles in my behind loosening up and I don't like it one little bit!

MMarie - how was the drawing class last night? fun?

Mazarin - I will try to look at your slideshow pics from home tonight. I have dial up at work and it just takes sooooooooooo long (drives me crazy actually) DSL at home, so that should work much better. Did you have fun? how's your arm/shoulder?

Marble - how are you feeling today? thanks for noticing my numbers. they are slowly going south and boy do I like it! I haven't been walking at all like I should since the storm, but I'm still eating healthy and running around like crazy.

Leenie - are you at work today?

Liz - how's work and the family?

Cin - how many ww meetings today? are ya'll gearing up for new things in January???

where's the rest of our gang?

hugs & blessings,
cathy

Good morning Cathy!! Thank goodness you were okay when the tire blew out. That is one scary feeling. I had it happen once and it just sort of jerks you from la-la land.

The drawing class was good last night. It was the last one. We were learning how to draw faces. The eyes and mouth were okay, but I never realized how hard it was to draw noses. there's no real lines to draw so it's all shading.

I'm at work today and it is so cold. 5 degrees. That's almost unheard of around here. Brrrr.

Oh, what to do... I guess work.

Good Morning ladieees.

Oh Cathy stop complaining, your 30 degrees will be gone shortly as it just is settling in for real winter around here....we had about an inch of snow again (just enough to make a mess)...its 27 and not going much higher (so they say)

Jeez that tire sounds scary and you LET TOTAL STRANGERS HELP YOU???? (in my neck of the woods you sit in the locked car and call the triple A or wait for the po-lice....total strangers will rob and murder you (i know this is true because I read it on the internet, someone is always waiting under my car to grab my leg, crawl in my back door and drug me with a perfume sample in the parking lot!---and of course someone is just around the corner waiting to steal my kidney and leave me in a bathtub filled with ice! oh those urban legends)

sounds like everyone is having fun but me....I get through work and pretty much collapse when I get home, looking forward to having some more energy in the near future.

Mornin ladies

A little cold out here too, thirty-something in the morning but I am sure it will warm up by midday.

Sorry to hear about your tire Cathy, that is pretty scary. Had similar thing happen to me on the highway a couple months ago. I sat in the car and waited for family though, the only advice I was given from strangers was a few rudely honked horns and some sign language It's easy to say it's just money, but a shame it had to happen this time of year, every little thing just makes it a little harder.

Last drawing class Marie? Do you plan to take more?

Know what you mean about the energy Marble, sometimes I feel so much older than I am. About all I have energy for nowadays is work, some cooking, and maybe 2-3 videotapes of WATP a week. I think I get through by just drinking a lot of caffeine. On Fridays I'm so exhausted I fall asleep way sooner than normal, sometimes 8pm

And gosh that's cold bmw, hope it warms up for you too. Everyone stay warm today!

Miles, I took a community ed class and that was the last one. I asked if she was going to offer more drawing classes and she said maybe in the spring. So I will watch out for that. For now, I just ordered 2 drawing books from Amazon.com. I'm so bored at work today, I wish I'd brought my pencils and drawing pad. That would have been a lot more fun than working.

Brandi, welcome to the board and congrats on the new baby. You must be so excited. You will like the people around here.

Leenie, I love the snowball fight smiley. Too cute.

Marble, I know what you mean about the energy. All day I can't wait to get home to knit or draw and by the time evening gets here, I'm exhausted so I do nothing. BTW, loved your thoughts about stranger's help. Unfortunately in our mixed up world, that's not too off.

Talk to you later.

it's just because of my injured "wing", by the time 5PM rolls around, my scapula is on FIRE from using it all day....

Once i took my (then 84 YO) mom shopping at Sam's. I dropped her off out front and went to park the car....Went inside and couldn't find her, figured she started looking without me, I kept checking back for her where I told her I'd meet her for 1/2 hour.....somehow we missed eachother.

She reported ME missing to the front desk, she was SURE someone had kidnapped me.....(what would anyone want with a 45 year old blonde who is 25# overweight?, I don't think so...but i appreciate the thought, thanks mom)

Welcome to Brandi !

BFMiles, I'm s/p 6 weeks from accident, 3 fractures (2 to the nose and 1 to the shoulder).

hey Marie, I can send you my nasal X-rays to practice drawing broken noses......
