Lynard, at least it was just 1/2 a pound! I am nervous about this week's weigh-in. I weighed myself today at the gym (I couldn't help it! ) and I was UP 3 POUNDS I sure hope it's water weight! I haven't cheated at ALL!

I might as well post tomorrow's plan now...

Red lentils, broccoli, pasta sauce, olive tapanade and spices=300

Black beans, rice, romaine lettuce, fresh tomato-onion-jalapeno salsa, HOT salsa, guacamole=500

some kind of 220 calorie snack with my daughter after school =220

Cabbage, carrot, potato, onion, tomato, leek, bean and barley soup=300

1 carton Vitasoy Complete=280

a gallon of water

1,600 calories!

60 minutes yoga, 60 minutes treadmill in the AM and then in the evening 10 minutes bike, 30 minutes weights followed by 20 minutes treadmill

I weighed in (despite my menstrual bloating) and I lost 1 pound! I am soooooooooo pleased that I went afterall! I am thinking I'll show a bigger loss next week when this bloat is gone!

I have decided to try changing up my calories a bit. I am going to have Wednesday (weigh-in day) be my highest calorie day and eat between 1800-2000 calories and stagger the rest of the week between 1200-1600. I am hoping I can trick my metabloism into thinking it needs to BURN fat instead of storing it! I have stepped up the cardio and weight training too, so we'll see how this all goes!

Today, so far I have had:

Salad of spinach, butter lettuce, shredded beets, cucmbers, red onions and tahini garlic dressing=200

Tempeh "sausage"=100

White bean, carrot, celery, garlic and onion soup (with rosemary)=200

Grape Kombucha tea=60

1 gallon of water

Total=560 calories

Okay, today is supposed to be my highest calorie day of the week...I need to eat something else! I feel so crampy today and don't want to cook. I wish I could order a vegan pizza and have it delivered and I WOULD if such a thing were readily available

Hiya ladies.....I have a couple of questions here. I have started a low cal diet which I am assuming is similar to what you are doing.....my food lists vary COMPLETELY from what your food lists are. I guess my question is, is there such a thing as "bad calories"? I mean, I feel like I am eating hoooorible compared to you? I was just browsing trying to get meal ideas and comparing different ways to mix up my caloric intake. I want to eat healthy but I also want to be happy but I dont want to be doing this the "wrong" way. I am interested to hear back......Thanks!!! Keep up the GREAT work! I am very impressed!

Thanks India Vegans don't eat cheese or any other animal products.

I haven't found a single place around here that makes a cheeseless, non-hydrogenated oil, chicken/beef broth-free (yes, it's been in the sauces at some places) pizza! There was one place, but they kept messing our order up and we ended up with bits and pieces of animal products and they also were using the same cutter (covered in pepperoni grease and cheese fat) for my pizza I have to just make it from scratch (messy and time consuming). I'm going to treat myself next week (it's too late to get all the ingredients for today and since this is my high calorie day, I have to wait!).

Wink Welcome candoitby06; Congrats Yogini; Hi India

Candoitby06,

I agree with India on all counts. Also I didn't realize that reducing by 500 cal/day=1 pound loss/week. I checked out your profile and your baby is SOOOO Cute. What a sweetie Keep writing, we'd love to hear how you are doing.

Yogini, See, I thought you might be surprised with a loss this week Congratulations, and good luck with your vegan pizza hunt!

India,

How are you doing this week? Have you been to the gym? I'm counting on a loss from you this week! You wouldn't want me to throw a tantrum, would you?

Here's what I added:

Oven fries (my FAVORITE junk food!)=270

Amy's Spicy Chili=190

1 bowl maple pecan cereal=300

12 oz. rice milk=150

So, 1470 for the day...not the 1800-2000 I planned but at least I didn't stop at 560 calories!

So far, I have had:

Soy/MultiGrain Tempeh in garden veggie pasta sauce:400 calories

Calcium-fortified orange juice:50 calories

40 oz. water

I know I'll have steamed broccoli later=100 calories

Then make a big pot of stew with tomatoes, cabbage, kale, potatoes, celery, carrots, herbs, onions, garlic, leeks...and some sort of bean or lentil for more protein and fiber, giving me about=200 calories per large serving

Then a pinto bean, corn tortilla, vegan cheese and salsa casserole=350 calories

and have a fresh veggie juice of beets, carrots, celery and cucumber=200 calories

I may have another bowl of stew or another 200 calorie snack later (probably calcium-fortified orange juice with hemp protein powder).

I'll have at least a gallon of water and 45 minutes on the treadmill when the day is done.
