Default Afternoon Sugar Cravings

Does anyone else have problems with these?

Around 3pm every afternoon I feel like I would just about kill someone for a chocolate bar! I always have a snack around 3pm - generally a piece of fruit and a cup of tea, but it's really a struggle to fight the cravings. Sometimes I'll have a diet hot chocolate (only 50 cals) which does seem to help my sweet tooth.

Any suggestions?

Try planning a healthy snack that's more than just fruit. Fruit with peanut butter, a small sandwich, chocolate spread on wholemeal bread?? Gotta be better than a choccy bar!

Although, maybe you could buy those snack size choccy bars, take one to work and get someone to lock up the rest! Do you have Milkybars over there? They're only small, or the single Milky Ways. If you really really want something, have it, just in small portions!

You probally ARE hungry and need some fuel! Try something with some protein. Like the previous reader suggested, fruit with some peanut butter. a small amount of cheese and crackers. Wait 1/2 an hour and if you're still craving chocolate, have a fun size bar of something.

Afternoon sugar cravings were always the worst for me. I gave up sweets altogether about 7 months ago, and the thing that gets me through the afternoon sweet tooth attack now is a banana with peanut butter. It kills the sweet craving and the protein in the peanut butter fills me up a little better than fruit alone would.

...just a thought. Good luck!!
