Default S.B. plan - need a buddy!

Hi, new here. I'm on day 4 of Plan I of the Southe Beach Diet, and I sure hope this works for me. I know it's healthier eating and have prepared 2 recipes for dinners thus far. It hasn't bee real hard so far. I've tried W.W. and tried going back, but just can't deal with it, the points, looking up info to the log, meetings, etc. A friend of mine went on "good carb" diet and looks great! I need help from a buddy on this diet please! Thanks.

Smile S.B. is working!

I'm now on day 7, and doing well as far as sticking to the diet! I have not weighed in and will not until tomorrow; but I can tell by my clothes that I've lost some weight! What an encouraging experience! I know that I'm eating well - finally. This all makes so much sense now! I love it. I need to lose between 20-25 lbs. I gained about 15 lbs. since last summer (was then on W.W. diet), got tired of the points system, and the yo-yo experience. Then my dr. put me on Evista for bone density, and that added more weight. I workout 4 times per week of step aerobics, weight circuit training and Pilates; but nothing was helping. I find with the South Beach Diet that I am never hungry!

Hi - I need a buddy. I've been trying very hard to lose. I joined a gym and lost inches, but in all honesty - I just like to eat. I am hoping that being accountable to someone will help me along. I am 203 (that's pounds, not age - although I feel like it sometimes) and would like to be 160. My goal is 5 by labor day.

Exclamation Sure!

I'd love to be your buddy. Are you on South Beach also? This is day 8 for me now, and I've been very "by the book" as far as I know...I have not weighed in yet, but will do so today. I will only weigh in once a week. I will say one thing, this is a very healthy eating diet. I've tried several recipes, and the family (husband and 2 sons) really have liked them. It takes some prep in the a.m. getting what I need to bring to work for breakfast and snacks and lunch, but it's doable. It's worth it. I really feel better already. I generally work out 4-5 times per week, step aerobics, weight circuit, Pilates and walking. I would love to lose 25 lbs. It's hard, but I do not want to gain any more!!! Let's work together on this!
Thanks.

I've tried SB and I agree it is very good. Right now I'm on WW - it sounds like you are on the total right track. Lots of exercise and eating well. I also exercise alot, but I eat too much. Even though it is good food and healthy, just too much. I find it odd that I know what I am supposed do and just can't do it. Every morning I tell myself "this is the day" and I do good during the day, but evenings are killers. So hopefully the 3 chicks attitude will work for me, and you, and we can lose together.

Wink Let's Do It - go for the goal!

O'kay, I know what you mean when you say you know what you need to do, but have trouble getting started. I'm tired of my clothes getting tighter by the month! I want to look in my closet and know whatever I pick out will feel comfortable and eventually might be too big!!! Also, I want to adopt this lifestyle for the rest of my life and be smart about my eating habits! I'm on day 11 of Phase I. It hasn't been too hard. I mainly miss the fruit. After a few days, I didn't care so much about the bread. I want to continue to be smart into Phase II, which I will begin on Friday - unless I decide to go one more week on Phase I.

Good luck with W.W. Just remember how you will feel as you get slimmer. That's what I keep telling myself. And, it really is just as easy to pick up some celery with peanut butter or a salad to eat your fill vs. cake, lots of bread, or chips!

I can honestly say, that for the first time in a long time I was good for an evening - in fact, 2. I was actually counting out peanuts and it looked like so few that I at veggies instead - WOW for me. It is the habit - how long does it take to create (change ) a habit - 30? I am doing 1 day at a time. I'm trying to keep a food diary - to really account for my actions. Yesterday my husband, friend and dog hiked a snippet of the Applachian Trail 7.7 miles - It was truly lovely and burning those calories I felt real good. My closet looks like yours, minirunner. I have some with tags still on them from 2 years ago for "when I lose weight" - then went out and bought 2 new ones for work that actually fit. I guess if I have to give them away because they are too big I won't cry too much. That will be a while. I loose all over and gain all over, so I really don't drop too many dress sizes. Do good tonight - the best you can - and I'll touch base tomorrow.
