Default Canned Tomatoes

During phase 1 are we allowed to have any of the following canned tomato items?

1. Tomato paste
2. Tomato sauce
3. Rotel’s tomato mixes
4. Stewed tomatoes

When I was at the grocery store I didn’t see any canned tomato items that had the labeling “no sugar added”, so I didn’t know if any of these products were ok. If anyone has a specific brand they can recommend such as Hunt’s, etc. please let me know.

Thanks for your help!

PrettyBunny I use Hunt's tomato sauce as it doesn't have any added sugar in it. I use a store brand of Diced tomatoes (Albertson's) because they are cheaper but I don't know if you have that store where you live.

If you read the list of ingredients on the cans you should be able to find ones without added sugar. Make sure you are looking for the hidden sugars also. The "ose" sugars.

You can find tomato pastes where the only ingredients ARE tomatoes. It won't say no sugar added, just look at the ingredients...

The only canned tomato product that I have not been able to find without added sugar is stewed tomatoes. I have one recipe that calls for them and I just substitute different types of tomatoes. Rotel is fine. I know that the original, bold, mexican, italian and chili flavors are fine.

Thank you everyone for your help. I do have an Albertson's by me, so I will have to pick up some of their diced tomatoes. I'll be sure to get some of the Hunt's and Rotel brand of tomatoes.
