Smile Need help with calories!!

Hello everyone!

I just need some major support right now because I've been slipping up and I don't want it to affect my weight loss/maintenance.

The last time I weighed myself I weighed about 122 or so, which was about a month ago. I am trying to maintain this weight and/or lose a few more pounds, maybe 5 or so. However, this past weekend with all the 4th of July festivities, I've not been eating so good and I'm trying to get back on track, because I'm supposed to weigh myself again this Friday ( I only weigh once a month).

About how many calories should I be eating a day to maintain this weight? I am 5'7", 24 years old, and I walk about 3 or 4 days a week on my lunch break.

Thank you so much for your help!!

A.

Hun if your 5 feet 7 inches and 122 lbs, you don`t need to lose any weight, your almost under weight now! your BMI is 19! Your cal intake to stay were you are is around 2085 cals a day, if you walk 3 or 4 days a week!

Calorie "calculators" are not all that accurate. There are too many factors in there besides just height and current weight. Your metabolism, age, amount of muscle mass, and many other things play a part.
The best way to figure it out is do a personal experiment. Eat 1800 calories a day for a week-then weigh in. If you lose-then up your calories slightly, if you gain, then drop them slightly. Do this, weighing in once a week-until you find the level where you maintain your weight. If you find that after a while of eating say, 2000 calories a day keeps the scale in the same spot-then that is the personal maintenance level for you.
