Default Tuesday, June 14 Support thread

Hello, all...

I hope this day starts well. I've been up for awhile, getting my odds and ends done. Yesterday I tried to keep away from carbs, in the sense of breads and cereals, but I had some triscuits when I came home from work. I think it's different if you're making the effort and conscious decision about what you're eating. I'm just happy that I stayed on plan yesterday, and kept my wits about me.

Not much else is going on, I work today, so I will bring some extra food with me. Between 4:30-9, it's just me, and I can't take a break, so I usually will keep somethign like a banana, apple, carrots, or a peanut butter sandwhich around in case I do get hungry. I do get lunch, but it's earlier in the day, and may not hold up.

Today my big thing is to do some form of exersize before I go to work, for atleast half an hour. I can go for a long time, exersizing, but when I fall of the wagon, it gets really hard to get back into it. It's like not going swimming for a long time,s o then when you do, you're not used to the temp., so you stick your toe in, your foot, your leg..same thing can be said for exersizing and eating choices. Little things, added up, make a big difference.

Yep, hothothot here too....it was 83 when I left for work and the humidity is making for a bad hair day.... my maine coones lay on the glass coffee table and let the fan blow up their tails...I leave the ac set on 78 when I'm not home, but have parked a cylinder fan on the fireplace hearth to circulate some air....and of course they can listen to their favorite radio station....(no I do not leave the TV on tuned to Animal Planet, I'm not that extreme)....
doctor changed my Meridia dosage and now I CAN'T eat unless I force myself...(thats a new one), I now take 15 mg. 3X a week and 10 mg. 4X a week....but I'm not sleeping well at all.

Default 66 and overcast

It's 66 right now, it is supposed to be a high of 70 w/ thunderstorms. We've been getting a lot of rain/storms/tornados for the last week or so.

I still have not gotten the motivation to work out. I"m working at it. Maybe it'll wake me up some more.

On the topic of meridia, I know it's for people who have more to lose, but sometimes i do wish I could find something to help me out, just a shove.
What does eveyrone eat? On my blog I was musing about it. Does it work better to eat more in teh a.m. and less in the p.m? I'm not hungry really during the mid part of the day, but I am in the morning and at night, but I"m trying to even it out so I'm not tempted to binge.

I have a guinea pig. When I'm home I"ll leave the door open to blow a breeze on said pig, but I have to be careful not to make it too cold.

I'm somewhat down today at that this takes forever, to lose weight. I"ve been messing with the same 10-15 lbs for about three years and can't take it. I've considered going very low cal, but then my body would go into starvation mode and I'd end up bigger than I am now..how irritating.

yes, I doubt your doc. would prescribe for you if you are only 150...(I believe we have similar goals and body types, you are about my height too). 150 is NOT huge, but the last 10 are the hardest! always!

don't starve yourself, make different choices, drink your water or herbal tea (I hate plainwater, always use lemon)...up your veggies.

as for the exercise..take a pair of dumbbells and just promise your self one set of "something" every day...even if it's only 5 mins, it's a START and work up from there...what have you got to lose? you could gain some firm arms too.

good luck!

good morning gang!

been running already.

got up at 5 am and did a 30 minute 2.5 mile Walk & Jog dvd!

Leenie - are you off today? are you on vacation?????

Marble - that's some loose pants if you can get them off without unzipping them! don't let nobody pull on your britches!

Alteaon - I seem to eat most of my calories breakfast & lunch (with 2 snacks of course) and then I eat less at supper. Of course, I wake up really hungry. I think evening out your calories is a good idea too. I think the main thing (at least for me anyway) is not eat the majority of my calories at night - for some reason that just does not work for my metabolism (which is pretty non existent actually)

Wonder where Cin is - we haven't seen her in a week or so????

What's everybody doing today? make it a great one!

hugs,
cathy

Good Afternoon Ladies!
Cathy - what an inspiration you are, getting up at 5 am to get going.
Marbles - pants way to big, Congrats!
Leenie - Sounds hot where you are. We were suppose to have rain, but instead have had sunshine and cloud. Right now its only 11C or 52F.
alteon - every little thing helps and Marbles has a great suggestion with the muscle building. That way you burn calories while sitting. I should follow that advice as well
Feeling a bit better today. Had to have a nap this morning after my girls got on the bus. Planning on getting into our back room and getting some more decluttering done. Looking at this floor, I better pull out the good ol' vacuum before I go in there.
Only three more days of school for my two older girls plus exam days and seven for my youngest. I can't wait for it to be over. My oldest had her grad on the 3rd. It was really nice and we survived the two sets of grandparents visiting. One advantage of having a small place is that people got hotel rooms.
And yesterday I put a deposit on a house for my mom, So now my mom and sister and her boyfriend will be moving here. It will be nice to have some family around after ten years, especially since my hubby is a truck driver and away so much.
Anywho, I hope everyone is having a great day.
Take care all, K

Hey Ladies

Marble – hey congrats on big pants! Hehehe does boiling them shrink them?

Well ladies, 2 out of 3 finals are done. Let’s not even talk about calculus. I’m really upset with myself for not doing better in this class. Even if the instructor really sucked at instructing. :-P We started out with 28 students, the first midterm we had 17 left, the 2nd midterm we have about 14 left and today for our Final we had 11 people. So… wonder what’s up with that???

Just have one more. Thursday is my last final, and Wednesday is my last day at work then we are off for summer. I start summer session for school next week… but it’s only for 5 weeks, then I am off til Aug. 29th when work starts up again and then classes for the fall start up Sept 23rd. Woohoo… I need a break! I am hoping to focus a lot more on my weight loss when things calm down here. It’s hard to jugle school, work, homework and a family and try to lose weight. I’ve been sucking lately at it. I need to set some priorities for myself again. Maybe I can get something figured out for this summer. Must get back on track!!!

Hope everyone is doing well…

Take care…
Sue…
