Default Hello hello!

Just thought I'd introduce myself before I dig in and start posting. My name is Lauren. I'm 20 years old, and have been having weight problems since high school, but it really got bad during my first two years of college. I gained about 20 pounds during my first two semesters, then lost 15 last summer. However, this year I gained all of that back, and then some.

So here I am, hoping to lose the 30-ish pounds standing between me and my health and happiness. I'm also hoping to fit into my clothes again, because right now, the only things that fit me comfortably are the clothes I wear to the gym. x.x

After finishing school for the year, I've lost about 6 pounds. I hope to lose the rest this summer, so I am eating healthy foods in sensible amounts and going to the gym 6 days a week. This time, I'm going to keep it up.

I can't wait to chat with you, it looks like you have a fun community here. Best wishes to everyone with the battle against the bulge!

Hey girl! Welcome to the boards.

What sort of diet plan are you on?

Love,
Deanne

As far as a diet plan, I'm making sure I stay at or below 1500 calories a day, eating fruits, veggies, lean meats, whole grain breads and low or non-fat dairy. I'm trying to keep all of my portions balanced. I'm not on a more structured diet plan like Atkins or anything because I don't think I'd be able to keep it up in the long run -- but I think I can stick with what I'm doing.

Thats what I was doing when I first started dieting. Im the opposite, I had to have something structured. Counting calories really wasnt too bad though. I was doing about 1300 a day. Weight Watchers is basically counting calories too, just a more structured way.
Anyway, everyone here is so supportive. I dont know what Id do without this place

Love,
Deanne

HI Cheeky, welcome to the boards. You're new way of eating sounds good, and sustainable, and a lot like South Beach (which is what I follow).

Where did you get the light saber/yoda weight tracker?
