Good morning everyone. It's Week 9 of the Year 2001. Are you on track with your goals?
A pleasant surprise for me at weigh-in on Saturday. Down 2.8 lbs. That takes care of the excess from the Christmas season; now to tackle the seven pounds that stand between me and my personal goal.
This morning's weather treat on the east coast is freezing rain. I have a businss trip this afternoon;it's only an hour's drive, thank goodness, but I really dislike driving in bad weather of any kind.
Sorry, but no time for personal notes to anyone this morning. Just wanted to get the week going.
Hope you all had a great weekend. Oh yeah, we're down a few people this week, aren't we? katie is off to Orlando, I believe, and isn't lalala away too? Wherever they are, I hope the sun is shining.
I'm working on my goals for this year but they're slow in coming!
Had a really busy weekend overall and my eating was less than stellar. Today is a brand new day and I'm looking forward to being on track again. The weekends have been tough lately.
We had a balmy 65 degrees here yesterday and woke up this morning to a chilly 34! Geesh! I can't wait for Spring to arrive and stay.
Seasaw: I hope the weather clears so that you don't have to drive in freezing rain. That stuff scares me because it makes the roads so slick. Be careful!
Seasaw ~ Way to go on your loss!!! I agree with Melissa, be careful driving!!!
Melissa ~ I hear you about the less than stellar weekend, I was the same way. But today is a new day, and I am staying OP all week and working out each day too. I had WI on Sat and stayed the same. For which I am happy for.
A big "Hi" to everyone else!! Pretty quiet day at work today, so I will probably check in a few times today!!
I, also, hope the sun is shining for lalala and katie.
I'm in the same both with Melissa and Tonya - less than stellar weekend, but today is a new day. I'm having trouble fitting in excercise - the end of the month is crazy at work. Hopefully, by making good eating choices, I can mitigate the damage. However, my recent track record in that regard hasn't been too good either. Sigh.
Weather here in Austin was beautiful this past weekend - sunny and about 80 degrees, with a nice breeze. However, we are apparently going to pay for it by having a cloudy/rainy week this week. Bummer.
Well, gotta run. Today will be very busy, so I won't check back in. Have a great week, everybody!
P.S. - where are LE and SlimGirl and SlimGirl's friend from Dallas (can't remember her name, but she has a great tag line about not messing with dragons)?
Make that 4 of us with less than stellar weekends! But like everyone else, I'm approaching this week as a fresh start. I've decided to just focus on making today OP, and not focus on the whole week. So far so good. And happy news is that I'm buying a used bike from a friend tonight. I haven't ridden a bike on a regular basis for years, I'm looking forward to having it as a way to get around Brooklyn. (I don't own a car.) I need to build up my uphill biking muscles. I can already feel the burn in my thighs!
I hope everyons is having a good OP monday.

Yesterday went pretty well, although my points were a little higher than I had planned. I was right at the top of my range so it's not too bad but I was hoping to keep it a little lower.
I am doing much better today though. I took advantage of a sunny, although chilly day, and went walking over my lunch hour. I always feel better once I've gotten outside and moved! Here's to getting back on the horse!
I have my weigh in tomorrow and am hoping that my past isn't going to catch up with me. I've made up my mind that I'm going to put my mind to getting in more exercise and being more point-conscious. I want to be ready for my trip in April and I want to have some "play room" as far as my weight goes.
Hi everyone. I made it to my meeting and back in one piece. The freezing rain turned to rain and then it cold really cold. As a result, the trees are decorated in ice. It's tragically beautiful!
Sounds like Melissa, Tonay, AustinGal and tumbler are all struggling a bit. So am I come to think of it. Oh well, some weeks are better than others.
I am starting to watch really closely for vacation package sell-offs. We would like to get something for the third or fourth week of March if possible, and it will be exciting to flip through all of those glossy brochures and play the waiting game until we see something we like. I can feel the sun on my skin as we speak. A far cry from what my skin has suffered through since November...
No exercise yet this week, due primarily to out-of-town work commitments. I renewed my gym membership for one more month; after that, I am running outside no matter how much %&&@# snow is on the sidewalks.
Have any of you heard about the one-year-old in Alberta who wandered outside over the weekend in -29 degree temperatures? Her heart stopped beating for roughly two hours, but her body cooled off so fast (she was dressed in a diaper and nothing else) that brain and other functions seem to have slowed before the lack of oxygen was felt. It's hard to say what the future holds, but it appears at this point that she hasn't suffered brain damage. She may lose toes or even a foot to frostbite, but otherwise, appears to be OK. A miracle baby - and such a beautiful little girl too!
Anyway, that's it from me for now. I hope to get back to normal by tomorrow - eating OP and exercising.
Seasaw: Glad to hear you made it back okay. There's nothing worse than icy roads. We had the thin glazing here yesterday and I'd much rather have snow than that!
I've been getting some walking in and have been making more of an effort to keep moving. I'm also in the process of going through stuff in my bedroom that I've managed to accumulate so that's keeping me pretty busy.
I'm happy to report I was down 2.2# this week...could've knocked me over with a feather especially since this week hasn't been one of my best. I know I need to continue to watch because sometimes the following week it will catch up with me. Anyway, I'm excited and it's keeping me motivated so here's to getting to my personal goal or thereabouts!
The board sure is quiet this week! It's been busy for me and the weekend I should be able to get caught up on some things and I'll be able to finish getting things ready for when they deliver my furniture on Tuesday.
Hi, I'm here, but this week was so busy that I didn't check in. Nothing good or exciting to report on the eating and exercise front. Next week is just going to have to be the beginning of a new exercise and eating initiative for me. I think I am really going to try to get to a meeting, now that the end-of-month work crunch is over (for now).
Melissa - new furniture did you say? How exciting. Now that we are in our new house, I need to start buying furniture. But, I am kind of paralyzed by the fear that I will make a costly mistake - what if I don't like how it looks once I get it home? I am trying to locate things on the Internet from some of the discount retailers in North Carolina. But, tho the prices are good, I am afraid of buying something sight unseen from just a little itty-bitty picture on the computer screen.
It has been relatively cold (40's/50's) most of the week here in Austin and terribly, terribly wet. Supposedly we will have more of the same this weekend. Bummer.
Hope you all have a great weekend. I am going out to our favorite romantic restaurant tonight sans kiddos. We got a gift certificate, so it's even free. Needless to say, I don't plan to stay anywhere near OP this evening. I will defintely try to get some extra exercise in this weekend to compensate.
I returned early from my meeting in NY do assess the lack of earthquake damage to my house. Good thing too, we lost nothing, just a few books on the ground.
sounds like everyone is having a punki week. I can chime in that it was global. I flew out of seattle early on saturday am to paris, ate entirely too much on the plane (this is possible) and then ate reasonably while in Paris. NY wasn't so bad, the hotel we stayed at had a great "spa and fitness club" so I kept up with that and we walked a bit, but I came home early and have stuffed myself in the 4 hours I've been home. sigh.
So, I'm sticking to my guns and not going to come back at the end of March bigger than when I left. I think that is a reasonable goal.
Its quite lovely here, lots of daffodils blooming and balmy. I'm not happy about missing spring and have told my next door neighbors to cut flowers and enjoy them, that is what I would do.
I want all of you to also stop, enjoy the flowers and be proud of all your accomplishments.
This is the first time I've been in 3FC in AGES; I've been super busy lately. But just wanted to say hey and how are you. I talk to Slim periodically, she is even busier than me right now. Hope you are doing well!
