Smile Newbie introduction

My name is Tammy 35 y.o. wife and mother of 2. I've been lurking for a few days so figured now is as good a time as any to introduce myself.

I'm currently following the WW plan, but sometimes I wonder why. I do okay and then I think I should be changing my whole approach to eating. I think the best thing for me is to do the 5-6 small meals. I'm doing the smaller meal plan today and trying to stay within my WW point allowance. I'll give it a couple weeks and see how it goes. I'm really trying to clean up my eating. It isn't as clean as I would like, but I'm weak and I know it. I have awesome commitment to the gym, but my commitment to the food isn't as strong. I know I'm only hurting myself in the end, but like I said I'm weak. All things considered though, I started this journey March 2004 and my body has changed in so many ways. I started out weighing 140lbs and I'm currently at 130lbs. My pant size has gone from 9/10 to a 4, so I know things are working. I know its not a number on a scale, but I do get hung up on the scale number from time to time, much to the frustration of my DH.

I work out primarily with my husband. We have crazy work schedules but do the best we can to weight train. He works 2 days, off 3, works 3 off 2 and so forth. We do weight train every day he is off. I usually only weight train hard when with him and hit hard cardio when on my own. It seems to be great balance for us right now. If our schedules are crazier than normal I will full body circuit so as not to mess our schedule too bad.

We do a cardio warm up (10-15 minutes) than work a specific body part. We do mix up our schedule every once in a while so as not to get bored or muscle memory. I'm very proud of the commitment we've both shown to the gym and the support we show each other. Our current body part break down is as follows:

Legs
Chest
Tri/Bi's -- love the overall arm mucsle exhaustion
Shoulders -- MY favorite body part
Back/Abs

Really looking forward to getting to know you all as well as offer and benefit from the support offered.

Hi tammy!!

Guess I'll be first to respond..YAY!! Soundslike me..hahahah i work out 4-5 times a week 45 intues cardio and weights...food is the problem..i just got my at home kit so i'm psyched..i did come across this other board..where the lady, Wendie, said she varies her points every day in order to lose weight. she found that if she stayed at the same allotted points (say 22) she didn't lose weight no matter how hard she tried. So this is her schedule:

Day 1 - 22 points, day 2 -28 pts, day 3- 23, day 4 - 36-39, day 5 - 28 ppints, day 6 -32 points, day 7 - 30

Her reasoning (which I've heard before) is that when people go on diets and reduce calorie teh body think starvation mode..if you keep your body guessing by varying the points (or calories) it doesn't have a chance to get into starvation mode and you will lose weight. Maybe that will help, because you do get one HIGH point day (which is in line with the 35 weekly points they give us at WW).

PM me, maybe we can be buddies!!
