Default OA internet meetings any recommendations?

I had to chuckle visiting a dietician recently( I am a longstanding COE) who earnestly told me the way I talk about food I sounded just like her anorexics, only she'd have to close her eyes as I weigh 190 lbs. There are very few OA meetings in CT, so I am looking for some support on the internet and I have gotten a lot of encouragement from this site. Could anyone tell me if they have had a good experience on the OA internet meetings. Many Thanks SUsanna

Hi Susanna!

I haven't had any experience with an online meeting, but I wanted to welcome you. It's very quiet in here at times. I suspect that a lot of us with eating disorders tend to retreat into our own worlds. Unfortunate, because we really do need the support of other people.

Is anyone out there to answer Susanna's question?

Susanna, check out this thread... I think there's a couple of links there, and the ladies may be able to give you some input. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55755

Dear Forum Friends Thank you for your reply. I am so excited to have found this site. I so look forward to reading the post which are encouraging to me even if some of you seem to exercise a lot more than I ever could imagine doing. So much of my COE journey lately is tring to find something else to do with myself/ for myself than eat or obsess about food. I am so blessed with a good family , a good job and most importantly knowing that God loves me where I am . Since my girls became teenagers my husband Steve and I have developed a great sense of humor( esp about ourselves) which I haven't always had in the past. Many Thanks Susanna

Hi Susanna I forget to come to this sub forum so I'm just seeing this post. I go to the OA meetings online at www.therecoverygroup.org and I have never had a bad experience with it. I'm very grateful for it because with a 2 yo there's no way I could make so many f2f meetings.
