Default any WWCalc users out there?

[FONT=Book Antiqua][COLOR=Sienna]Hi! I just restarted WW after trying Atkins for the past 2 years and I'm using a palm program called WWCalc which keeps track of my points, has thousands of foods listed and probably over 100 restaurant points available. It also has a custom cache to save my "usual" meals or custom foods that I like to eat. Is anyone else out there using this, I would love to chat with people who do? I swear it's the only thing that enables me to be successful.

Yes, WW Calc is a wonderful program. Very easy to use and contains just about every food you could think of. I don't have the restaurant list on mine, but I have looked at it. I see Weight Watchers is offering its own program now as well, not sure what the cost is or if you have to be an on line member to use it, but it may be worth looking into.

Yep, Weight Watchers is offering their own Palm Pilot program now and you can d/l it and test it out while you're doing the free e-tools thing.

Ok, now (stepping up on my soap box) I pay a lot of money to attend the WW meetings and yes it's nice to get those little coupons for e-tools and use it for a month or so for free but then you gotta pay for it baby! And the palm pilot program is included in this service also. Why then do I want to pay more money when WWCalc is a great program? I've lost 58.2 lbs so far and WWCalc is one of the many tools I credit to my weight loss. I know that WW doesn't appreciate this program floating around for free, but I need all the help I can get and I can't always afford all the expensive things that WW offers. I love the program, don't get me wrong, but I do have to save where I can. I've not had any personal experience with the WW version and I've not read any really bad reviews on another site, but I have seen a lot of people saying they prefer WWCalc. Ok,(off the soap box)

Default WWCalc vs. WW sanctioned palm program

Why then do I want to pay more money when WWCalc is a great program?

Well said. Here's where I'm coming from...Have joined weight watchers and attended many different times and learned a great deal about dieting and food issues and paid a lot of money for this knowledge. Bought many of their "calculators" attempting to have something as convenient as WWCalc, none came close. I am now doing WW on my own, using what I have learned in the past, using WWCalc, and after 2 weeks have lost 8 lbs. I'm thrilled. WWCalc is a great program, I always have my palm with me, therefore I always know what works into my daily diet without having to carry anything extra.

Would love to discuss how you have your preferences set up. What I have now is a floating weekly "bank" of up to 10 points and it seems to be working well for me.

One question. Where do you get WWCalc?
My soapbox: Trying to get the free pass to WWeTools in the first place. I entered all the information (including credit card information - irritating as &!## for a free two weeks!) and then was told by a service rep - which took 3 days - they cant find my information. AND THEN they asked me for the information I had given them in the first e-mail. I repeat - where do you get wwcalc?

I would love to know where to get WWcalc also. My franchise isn't part of ww online, so they don't know about accessing things. The info I got was confusing. So any help out there would be appreciated. Anything that would make journaling and point calculating easier would be great. Thanks.

There is a Yahoo Group that you can join:
http://health.*************.com/group/wwcalc-for-palm/

Once you join, go to the Files section to download the program. This Yahoo Group is set to the moderator only being able to send messages to the group, although I don't believe I gotten any since I joined - other than the Welcome email. I can't for the life of me remember if the file is sent out as an attachment in an email once a person joins.

The restaurant files can be downloaded at http://akasha.freeshell.org/ww/pilot/wwfc.html. Download by clicking the "X" in the column "List w/o Nut." Each restaurant needs to be downloaded individually and then unzipped using WinZip.

I hope it's okay to post the above information. If not, I guess it will be removed. (And I apologize if I broke a rule.)

Hi everyone,
it sounds very interesting about the WWcalc program. However, I don't have one of those Palm contraptions, and only have a computer... does anyone know of a similar program for a computer that is Windows XP?
Thanking in advance!

No, don't know of one. Honestly, with Palms becoming obsolete so quickly, you could probably buy a used one dirt cheap just for this program.
